  1. Yes I felt it, really scary - just gone to bed and the whole house was shaking for about 10 seconds.  Bedside tables and wardrobes were moving.  I sat up in bed and it was like being on a roller coaster - terrifying and not the kind of earth moving I wanted ;)

I've had to get back up - feel a bit hyper now!!

    We're in the Midlands.

  2. I left the fire stocked up and went to bed, I thought that the chimney had a risk of catching fire. I must have been asleep when I was awoke by the shaking that got worse. My first thoughts was the chimney Had Court fire and collapsed. But I couldn't move to the shaking had stopped. When I was downstairs and I seen the fire ok and went outside to the reassuring sound of alarms and barking dogs, and neighbours.

  3. I`m in north east lincolnshire...I woke up when I felt the bed shaking and the bedroom door rattling. At first I thought it was an extremely strong wind but then realised that the whole house was was shaking. The shaking lasted about 15 seconds and I was rooted to the spot for 10 minutes in case it happened again. It was pretty scary!

  4. It says on BBC News 24 that the epicentre was 30 miles south of Kingston Upon Hull.

It's also on BBc News 24 (Sky)

  5. Very intense and that's South Yorkshire!

Felt a build up and heard a growing deep rumble.

  6. it was weird, something in my wardrobe started shaking about 5 seconds before the tremor, this woke me up and then the house shook once...pretty violently. Oh, I'm in Harrogate.

  7. God it was scary I still can't go to sleep now. I was with my friend in her room and we literally just stood there, not knowing what to do, at first it was like a vibaration, so I thought someone had fallen over in the room next door (i live in a flat in student accomadation- go to Lincoln University) but then it kept shaking and shaking. Must have lasted 15 seconds AND we're on the top floor so we were scared the building was going to cave in.

First we assumed our block in the student flats was just shaking, but then we saw lots and lots of other students in the courtyard so went to stand with them. Then we went back inside and watched sky news. Couldn't BELIEVE it when they said the epicentre was in LINCOLN!

    Sorry for rambling!!

  8. Very scary! Roof breaking above me! I was too scared to think what it was!
