  1. Are you f'in kidding me?  I think you need to go back to History 101.

  2. I assume you are referring to Queen Elisabeth of England. she

and her sister were away on holiday, and her father was taken ill. it was known that he was not well before she and her sister

left, but I don't think they were told at the time. when he died.she

and Margaret returned home. Elisabeth was promptly prepared

to begin her duties beginning with her coronation. afterwards, came the duty of choosing a husband for her as Prince Consort.

although she is Queen-he cannot be King. he is a commoner.

  3. Her father was the king.   She was his elder daugter and she has no brothers.   So when her father died, she became queen.

  4. Accident of birth.

  5. She succeeded her father King George the 6th. when he died. King George and his Queen  Elizabeth (The Queen Mother)  had two daughters,   no sons. The girls were Elizabeth and Margaret. Elizabet as the eldest was heir to the throne  and thus was crowned Queen Elizabeth  the Second.

  6. Her father, George VI died in 1952, Princess Elizabeth instantly becomes Queen. On the death of Elizabeth II, Prince Charles [or if deceased] Prince William will instantly become King.

  7. George VI kicked the bucket on 6 February 1952.  He had no sons so the heir to the thrown was his eldest daughter who became Queen Elizabeth II.  This was formalised by her coronation on 2 June 1953.

  8. Princess Elizabeth was the heiress presumptive. She was not the eldest daughter of King George VI but the ELDER daughter - he only had 2 daughters!

  9. She was the eldest daughter of George VI and he had no sons therefore she inherited the throne.

  10. I spent a lot of time shoveling snow and ice but I got there in the end

  11. She was the oldest daughter of the King.

Or do you want a Geneology? (or however the h**l it's spelt)?

Found a family tree for you...

  12. there was a reality tv show back in the fifties, "i'm a monarch who wants to be a millionaire"

  13. in her family

  14. She won Britains Got Talent

  15. Her uncle, Edward VIII, abdicated so the crown passed to her father,George VI, then on his death passed to her.

  16. If you are referring to Elizabeth II the answer is quite simple. She was heir to her father,King George VI.The King only had daughters, Elizabeth and Margaret Rose.Elizabeth was the eldest daughter, and thus became the hereditary monarch. The King himself became monarch after his brother,Edward VIII abdicated in order to marry Mrs. Simpson,a two-time divorcee.

  17. She just happened to be part of the Royal blood line

If they all somehow died, we would either have a President/PM ruling, or maybe even find a NEW Royal Family connected to the original through distant relation, or marriage or something

Hopefully nothing like the one on that godawful show "The Dallas - I mean Palace". Those people irritate me!

  18. It's called "Line of Succession"

Sophia of Hanover → George I → George II → Frederick, Prince of Wales → George III → Prince Edward Augustus → Victoria → Edward VII → George V → George VI → Elizabeth II

    best of luck to you!

  19. Her father died leaving no male heir

  20. It's in her family dynasty, and it passes down, when the Queen/King dies, and it then passes onto the next in line. Of course, the Windsor family, is the current line in the United Kingdom. The name Windsor was selected, to replace the German name, during times of war. The Queen, does not really rule, the United Kingdom of course, she is mainly a figurehead, who passes down her prerogative powers, to the Prime Minister. She could in theory, reclaim them at any time but the last time, a Monarch dissolved Parliament, and tried to rule the country themselves, they got beheaded, when a Civil War was fought, that Monarch was Charles I. Hope this helps.

  21. She pulled the crown out of a lucky dip....

  22. she was born into the royal family and was next in line to the throne as in had no more senior male family members or older brothers or sisters when her dad died

  23. Through her ancestry.  Sadly you cannot apply for the job.  ANyway she is doing a brilliant job so long may she reign.

  24. At the time of Queen Elizabeth's birth she was HRH Princess Elizabeth of York...her father was the Duke of York and was third in line to the throne.  Her father was not even supposed to be King.

At the time of her grandfather's death (George V), her uncle became king (Edward VIII).  He abdicated, or gave up the throne, to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson, and then Elizabeth's father became king going from The Duke of York to George VI, HM The King.

After her father died Elizabeth then became Queen Elizabeth II.

  25. She did something... oh wait... no she didn't

  26. I really hope this is not a serious question...

  27. her family were queens and kings...

one dies she inherits the throne.

    simple really (:

    xx

  28. Elizabeth II was crowned "Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, upon the death of her father, the late King George VI of the United Kingdom in 1952. When her uncle King Edward VIII first abdicated in 1936, her father Prince Albert was crowned as King George VI, since he was the second eldest son of King George V.

At the time of George VI's coronation, his oldest daughter Princess Elizabeth of York (formal title of Elizabeth II) was also named "Heiress Presumptive" meaning that upon his death, his oldest daughter will take over the throne. The British line of succession gives priority to first male born heirs before daughters, since George VI did not have any sons, the crown went to his first born daughter instead.

  29. her dad died

  30. She was born into a royal family, and her uncle (King Edward)? I think it was her uncle  anyway he abdicated the throne to marry a commoner Wallis Simpson a US citizen. and I think his brother George next eldest in line became King when King George died the throne went to the eldest child of George and since there were no males in line Elizabeth was coronanated in 1953? she became the Queen of England.
