  1. Accelerated their demise.

  2. In Canada (not sure about the U.S.) the indigenous peoples were largely settled on reserves by the time of the Trans-Canada railway was completed, the majority of labour supplied on its construction was via 'Indians', I'd argue the railway affected everyone the same, greater commerce, widespread cheap travel and larger commercial targets.

  3. divided the land, preventing many buffalo herds from their normal migrating routes. caused the game along with THE PEOPLE'S horses to panic and not follow their normal way of life. provided easier access for the Europeans to gain access to THE PEOPLE'S land.

  4. In Nevada the natives (Paiute, Shoshone and Washoe) helped to build the railroad.  Once the railroad was built the native people were allowed to ride the train for free from one native community to another.  This practice has since ceased but existed for several years upon the completion of the railroad.

  5. can't think of any good.

bad it brought more whites out for the land and they killed off the buffalo to control the indians.

  6. Nothing that the colonists or Americans did was good for the Native Americans.  But in all likelihood, it most likely caused them to further be removed from their land!  If you are interested, you should really see what effects the railroads had on Chinese immigrants.

  7. The railroad severely changed the way of life for Native Americans.  It took their land and their resources.  The loss of the buffalo herds took away Native Americans most important resource.  The only tribe which welcomed the railroad were the Pawnee Indians.  They liked the free rides.
