How did these things start?

time travel,teleportation and other things i personally believe them but my questions are...how did these "myths" begin?are they true?and how does one tim travel per say?im 13 and have theory of time travel email me if you would like to read it...

Logic says time travel as perceived in SF is impossible.  Even if it were invented in the future, we'd know about it now, as someone would have travelled back.

Technically, it is sort of possible to travel forward in time.  All you need is a spaceship capable of achieving a significant percentage of light-speed, and let relativity do the rest.  It's a one-way trip, though.

I think HG Wells started it all.
