How did they let them join the Olympic team?

The united arab emirates have two women on their team for the first time ever. Why?

And one of them was in Taekwondo!

Since the UAE sent a total of 8 people, Latifah Al Maktoum & Sheikha Maitha Almaktoum actually made up 25% of the UAE team.   I'm sure that they had to qualify just like the other 6.

Well now the UAE Government had changed into Democratic... its open economic country & culturization had changed alot since so far... Their lifestyles are westernized.... Their Government have given freedom & rights for women's...

They are attempting by 2012 to have each countries team have at least 1 woman.

"... will push a resolution calling on the IOC to strive to make the next summer Games, in London in 2012, the first in which every country’s team includes women."
