How did this country survive before income tax?

It pays for roads.... 42cents on the gallon for that. Schools? Property tax for that. There are taxes for almost everything. Would it surprise most of you to know that INDIVIDUAL income tax is absorbed by the national debt alone?

The US govt. was originally funded through enacting tariffs on imported goods and should go back to that method.

As Dr. Ron Paul showed, if we closed every military base overseas and brought our soldiers home, we could repeal the income tax.

too much money is made on taxing the people. its sad that the nutjobs in office aren't willing to cut frivolous spending in order to help the people that voting them into office. its like we work to keep our heads above water, not to get ahead. is THIS the american dream?

we did not spend $623 billion dollars on military spending not counting another $150 billion to pay Halliburton, KBR, Backwater etc.per year. what military we had did their own work, we won the wars in those days, and we only fought when we needed to. we did not have the federal reserve to charge us 10% on every dollar we borrow from the federals reserve. now we are sheep to be shorn.
