  1. yes! It was much harder then past regent exams! I got a 94 on my 4th quarter test (June 2007 regents), but got a 87 on this one

  2. i took ap chemistry so i figured the regents would be fairly easy... but i thought it was really hard!!!!!! i had a hard time on like 7 m.c and 3 part two's

  3. I also thought the test was really hard. I stayed almost the full three hours, just going back and reading and making sure. I haven't seen my score but I saw all of the answers and I am positive I missed five multiple choice, and I can't remember any of my part two answers XD

Except the baking soda one... I know it was NaHCO3, but I put parentheses around the CO3 (so it was NaH(CO3)) and I wasn't sure if that would count or not... I don't want to lose points for a stupid mistake like that, which shouldn't matter, XD

  4. The multiple choice had many weirdly worded questions, which is why it was so hard. I think the answer for the last question was waste rather than the acid rain. I only really remember wastes being mentioned as a radioisotopic danger in my book.

  5. it was really hard, especially the question about the wave mechanical model, since i never even learned that stuff.

  6. i thought it was pretty easy. some of the part 2's were tricky. i got all of the multiple choice right =) and i got a 90 overall.

  7. OH my gosh, ME!!!! I had to skip 15 questions, then just go back and give it my best shot.....Ten bucks says i take this regents over....

  8. I thought this test was a joke. Not only were the questions foolproof, but most of them were abnormally stupid (like the smoke alarm question, or "a proton has the opposite charge of.."). I don't understand how people actually could find this test so challenging..most of the answers are either common sense or in the reference table.

  9. I didn't take it (won't take it for 2yrs) but I've hbeard ridicoulous. Only 2 kids in my school got above a 90 5 above an 80

    Heard it was ridicoulous

  10. The Mc was really confusing and so was the short answer

Its scary..last night i had a dream that i got a 66 on my regents

    Im getting my results tomorrow

  11. I agree that the multiple choice was definitely more difficult than the old regents exams, and I took about 6-7 old regents exams. That may just be our bias since we all took it under real test conditions with nerves and all, but I do think it was more complicated for the most part. Not as much math as older regents either, which is a bad thing for some of us.

The Part II was pretty easy, some of them were confusing. I thought that part was pretty much the same as older exams, but the multiple choice was harder. I am thinking 91-93 assuming there is no curve.

  12. i thought it wasnt too difficult but my teachers were freaking out that it was the hardest one in 30 years. at least the curve will be bigger than usual

  13. seriously I agree i'm a freshman and i took chemistry early, but i did like 11 old regents for practice and the multiple choice on this test was MUCH harder!! i hope i did ok..lol

  14. Number 31 could have been acid rain OR waste. Grrr. I thought it was a fair test, though.

  15. I found the first 40 or so multiple choice mad easy..but from 41 to 50 it definately picked up in difficulty, and the short answer parts i thought were basically impossible...i just found out i got a 69 so i am so happy that i passed i guess its just good guessing skill?

  16. the multiple choice was harder than the years before but it was still easy. Part C was rediculous.  It was so hard.  but i got a 95 anyway, so i am happy.  I totally bs-ed on the organic compound boiling point question.

  17. I am an A student in a non- honors class and I am also in a very good school district. I got a 74 and most people got around that in my class so dont sweat it. It was a ridiculous test

  18. I think it was harder

  19. that was the hardest nys has ever given. EVERYONE thinks so, and my teacher was surprised. the pervious ones were so easy and all of a sudden nys wanted to be a ***** to us. lol

at least there is a nice curve. just have confidence in urself

  20. I thought that multiple choice was fairly easy. The hardest part of the test was the part II. I made up most of my answers in that part, especially the question about boiling point/intermolecular forces/polarity! The two diagrams looked exactly the same! I passed though...with a 67 =(

  21. I thought that it was relatively harder than the other ones but not unfair. I have taken all the regents from the past couple years. I couple multiple choice questions were tricky but if you spent some time on them then you could figure it out. The 3 hours was a life savier since I spent so much time on each question. And to answer your other question, it was wastes not acid rain.

  22. The curve definately was high because people in my class and stuff were FREAKING out about the test after (including the teachers cause godforbid they would teach us the material) but their grades were all really good. the lowest grade i have heard about is an 89 and i got a 98...but i was confident that i had 5 mcs wrong and basically ALL of part C wrong...so don't fret im sure everyone did ok =]

  23. It was a lot harder i did all the past regents and i would usually get 1 or 2 M.C.Q wrong but i just got my multiple choice grade from my teacher i got a 47 out of 50 on the multiple choice which sucks! Does anyone know what the answer to the very last question about smoke was?

  24. i thought the multiple chioce was ok but the short answer i had no idea and i have a 84 in the class

  25. How do you know what you got? I forgot most of my answers but from what I can tell, I did okay on multiple choice but I bombed the short answer. Part C was a nightmare.

  26. Actually, I found the multiple choice to be easier than the past years. There were maybe a total of 3 that I didn't know, so I went back at the end of the test. Unfortunately I still had no clue so I just guessed. The part C was rediculous! I have never seen a part C that hard. The last question was confusing....I don't know why smoke detectors go off...and what does drawing vertical likes have to do with my knowledge of chemistry? Overall, I think I passed, but the real question is by how much...hopefully my next 3 exams won't be as hard as this one was!

  27. i thought the multiple choise was fairly easy

  28. I thought the part b-2's were the hardest. I had little trouble with the part a's and the part-c's though. What the **** was with that last one about smoke dectectors? At first I just took what it said from the paragraph but then i changed it to smoke doesn't have mobile ions or something like that. I don't think the test was that much harder compared to past regents. Although it was a little.

  29. This test wasn't impossible, but it wasn't great, it wasn't even decent, I think ehh, is a more apt word.  My teacher made us learn so much more than we had to this year, apparently one of the joys taking honors Chemistry brings.  So I was prepared, but I still found it unusually difficult.  I got a 98 which is an 84/85.  I'm thrilled because the question I missed was the one MC that I genuinely didn't know the answer to.  But I know I'm one of the few success stories on this exam.  Some my friends in Honors Chemistry were getting scores in the 60s and 70s, and the regents kids did far worse.  The girl who sat in front of me during the exam closed her booklet a little after an hour into the exam.  I later learned she got a 38.  So far at my school, I know of 2 other people who got above a 90 out of the 170 plus kids who took it.  But the Chemistry program at our school is quite awful with the exception of Mrs.    Drnevich, she the only teacher this year to have a passing rate on the exam above 50%.  It was tough, but passable if you had a good teacher and a little bit of luck.  Hope everyone did well! PS( The Math B was awful as well what happened?)

  30. I thought it was very hard I struggled a little through the year, but at the end of the year I got a tutor who teaches another school. All I'm hoping for is a 65 or higher with the curve

  31. I agree, I went in there fairly confident because I had done well on the old regents but this one seemed so much harder! And I agree with the person above me, while it could have technically been acid rain or wastes, the only thing I remember my review book mentioning was wastes so thats what I put.
