  1. Well, the Spaniards came & kicked some Aztec Butt (In Jesus'  name, amen). That decimated, spread out, & scattered the Empire creating urban sprawl in the area now known as "Mexico City"

  2. I think it was mostly when Maximiliano de Habsburgo and his Empire arrived to Mexico city. When he built the main streets and gave some simetry to our city. And made it look a litttle like it looks now.

  3. a guy threw a quarter in the area then evry1 went to go get it ther still lookin for the quarter to date

  4. people didnt like the land in brasilia so they moved to places on the bottom of the escartment.

  5. Too wide a question to answer properly but part of the answer would be the following.

When Spanish conquerors arrived at the start of the XVIth Century they found a city called Tenochtitlan, with plenty of comforts and whose rulers, the Aztecs, had control of a very large portion of present day Mexico. They considered it politically wiser to preserve the city as their headquarters and though through the Colonial and Independent periods it was argued that a better place should be considered for the capital no such decision was taken.

Most commerce coming from Acapulco on the Pacific and Veracruz on the Gulf had to flow through the city and most roads were designed to go to and from the city. Landlords usually lived there and some had little need to visit their land. Other important cities of the Country only developed until the XIXth Century. By then, it was almost impossible to actually move the power center to a different location. So the city kept growing at a larger pace than others.
