  1. No bugger could score tries against them. Think they conceded 2 or 3 in the whole tournament. Big leap forward in defensive set plays. They have always been good at scoring tries.

  2. geniune competiton for places, rediscovery of form and brilliant coaching(shaun edwards more so than gatland in my opinion).edwards was the defence coach and they conceded just 2 tries in 5 matches

  3. Welsh Spirit!!! I'm Welsh and was chuffed yesterday!!!!! xx

  4. Because they have a good team and worked hard ! WALES!

dont forget we had the Grand Slam 2005 aswell!!

  5. Talent!! It was there but :

1  they were also reminded how proud they should be to play for their country,

    2 they had good leadership/coaching

3.They were reminded that if they don't play well they will be dropped.that I believe was their turn around.

In the seventies look at the teams then real Welsh men who were Welsh through and through that's what has been missing with some of the present team

One thing I am still annoyed about is Gavin Henson NEVER sings the anthem.he may think it is not important but it is . Look how patriotic the Americans are when they play sport ----with passion as well as talent. one  is no good without the other.

  6. beacause warren gatland is a good coach and and he has experiance wat a win for wales  when a new coach comes to a  team it changes there form they have should never gave jenkins the job wen jenkins was here he droped players so now gatland is here we start winning again si coaches make a huge diffrence

  7. Warren Gatland and great team spirit , thats how!!!

  8. Respect for the coaches, back room staff and belief in themselves.

  9. simple - shaun edwards!!

the man knows both codes of rugby inside out.

  10. Philip H makes a good point.

As for Wales, the talent has always been there it seems that confidence, belief and a few good day's in the training ground by excellent coaches as well as gelling as a team has been missing!

  11. Well, choosing the team entirely from the Ospreys was a good start.  The 'O's had beaten Glos badly and were obviously reaching a peak.  Then Gatland drops players wili nili so no one is sure of their place. Their has been a lot of continuity in the pack.  And Wales has one or two real stars.  But England have been rebuilding, ireland are not playingf well, Scotland and italy are both weak merely because of the limited number of players nationally,  and I just cannot understand what the French management are up to. The French lack a real play maker.

  12. It's a combination of both Wales playing better with a decent coach and the other teams playing worse. I watched most of the six nations games this year and honestly, a lot of them were boring as h**l. England v Scotland was the perfect cure for my insomnia. The sooner the "ELV's" currently being trialed in the Super 14 make it to the north, the better.

  13. how did England go from 6 nations flops last year to world cup finalists ? Rugby's all over the place, Scotland beat England and then lost to Italy. New Zealand are self proclaimed the best team in the world but never win anything major.

  14. Great management and a game policy based on a strong resolute defence. Reminded me so much of Rugby League defensive ploys. It is not the most attractive rugby I have ever seen but is certainly effective. However, you need strong skilful backs to spring defence into attack and we certainly had flair in that respect. We can only hope that the coaching team remains intact.

  15. Pride, passion, true grit, talent and excellent coaching and management

  16. A good manager........... the best players selected............ being allowed to play with the old Welsh flair which is more instinct that set plays............ and by having a following that BELIEVED in them!!!

  17. wales have got new management training staff and believe in themselves that they can win

  18. Because Wales finally have a d**n good coach that believes in them, therefore the players now believe in themselves!! They had no confidence before and we had a c**p coach in Gareth Jenkins!! Look at Gavin Henson now!! He always was a good player but Gareth Jenkins wouldn't give him the time of day!!!!!
