How did we become such a spoiled species?

The earth has provided us with everything we need to survive, yet we treat her like she was our own Cinderella. We have treated her like she was our personal servent instead of the beautiful princess that she really is. If we do not have her in our lives, then we have no lives to live.

I saw an interview with E O Wilson yesterday, Bill Moyers

anyway, he said that , 500 years from now future generations are gonna blame ours big time for ruining the planet.

using fewer resources WHILE improving the quality of life is the answer I think, aggreeing with WIlson

then on Oprah, they were saying people think stuff makes them happy, houses in the US are twice as large on average, yet folks have way more stuff in storage.

you know when when a child gets too much she gets spoiled and makes her parents poorer its like that the planet is our parents and we are the kid we have used it so much that now its getting destroyed

Al Gore stated last weekend that all of us in the developed world must pledge to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions by 90%

That means that we must shut down all transportation systems. There can be no automobiles, motor scooters, motorcycles,  buses, trucks, trains, planes or shipping.

Next we must shut down our manufacturing, steel making and cement making.

Next we must stop heating our homes, factories, and offices, even when it is below zero degrees outside.

Next we must stop the generatiion of all electricity by the use of fossil fuels.

Next we must stop the heating of all food.

Next we must stop the heating of all water that is used for washing and bathing.

If you use water that has been heated for washing bathing or shaving, you are contributing to Global Warming. Did you do your part this morning and bathe or shower in cold water? Did you use cold water for shaving?

If not shame on you, you contributed to Global Warming.

Next you must remove your furnace, water heater, stove cooktop and oven and the microwave oven and send them out for recycling so that you will not be tempted to use them.

You must do all of these things if you are going to do your part and save the planet from Global Warming.
