How did women succesfully fight for their rights of freedom and should I fight for mine?

I am just wondering how women were able to fight for their rights of freedom and expression. In the past women could not do so many things, but today it is accepted.

I am asking as I am trying to learn lessons, so that I can make it ok, in society for me to be feminine, wear skirts, heels, shave my legs etc, wo/ being considered wierd. If women were able to make so many different behaviors accepted by society, could I be succesful for me to wear a skirt, panties, or shave my legs without getting stares from people.

Or should I just give up wearing a skirt, pantyhose, etc b/c it will never be accepted by society

  1. You are free to do whatever you want.

Forcing people to like you is not possible, force yourself to be liked or force yourself to not care about what people think.

  2. lol. if you're thinking too much, you're probably not doing it right

  3. Stop worrying about what society thinks.  Why should you give up something that's not harming anyone, just because of other people's opinions?  What's going to happen is that you're going to give up something you want, but you're going to be miserable.

  4. i live in the u.s. of a. and as far back as i can remember i have been able to wear a skirt, pantyhose, and shave my legs (among other places *covers mouth as if to cover a dirty word and blushes*)....h**l i even wear makeup, perfume, and carry a briefcase.....who says you are weird for doing these things!?!

The Equal Rights Amendment was written in 1921 by suffragist Alice Paul. It has been introduced in Congress every session since 1923. It passed Congress in the above form in 1972, but was not ratified by the necessary thirty-eight states by the July 1982 deadline. It was ratified by thirty-five states.

  5. You should probably ask a man! Some of these slacks wearing chicks aren't to sharp!

  6. ...could I be succesful for me to wear a skirt, panties, or shave my legs without getting stares from people?

It's still more accepted than wearing pants all the time, so I don't really understand your question. I do take care of myself, shaving and all, long hair, look otherwise like a female, but don't wear skirts/dresses, so people find it strange and ask me why I don't. I've never heard anyone asking a girl why she wears skirts... so...I don't see you having any problems with that.

...Or should I just give up wearing a skirt, pantyhose, etc b/c it will never be accepted by society

Again, I really don't see the point of your question. You are taking about Earth society right?...

  7. Psssst.  There is no dress code for females.  Wear what you're most comfortable in.  Your success will not be determined by your fashion statement.  You will ultimately be evaluated by your ability.

  8. You need to join a transgendered support group and other organizations that will allow you to find like-minded people and to work toward creating greater acceptance of your choices in society.

I'm posting several links for you below, but I wanted to tell you a couple things that I think will make you feel better.

In many cultures gender-ambiguous individuals were revered. My ancestors held g**s and transgendered people (including cross dressers) as a special third gender. It was believed that all humans started out hermaphroditic, which evolutionarily speaking, all LIFE started out both female and male. Anyway, the third gendered people were thought to be closer to our original nature, embodying the whole within themselves, they were thought to have special abilities to communicate with the spirits and gods. They were respected and honored for being so like the gods themselves, embodying all things.

The only reason cross dressing is frowned upon is because femininity is still degraded. Females who first wore bloomers were heckled and threatened, just as males who wear female dress are today. It will change, but only after males decide to relinquish illusions of superiority and begin to embrace their full humanity.

In reality, you are ahead of your time, more evolved than most. You realize that you are far more than the shape of your crotch. Most males live and die without ever realizing that they are fully human and have choices.

Anyway, I've dated men who wore skirts and carried purses... Straight men, who looked d**n s**y in my skirts, and I loved them and no one gave them c**p about it. In the past, very manly men wore skirts (Spartans... Shakespeare...Scotsmen, anyone?), so it's all arbitrary anyway, and those who are hung up on it have decided to live in dingy little cages where they neither experience, nor embrace the fullness of their beings. You are lucky, even if it's hard, and if you want to make it better for those who follow in your footsteps, then you are my personal hero.

  9. all hope is lost, get a s*x change

  10. Wear what you want and don't worry about feminism. They are lost in dogma and not a very good group for opinions. As you can see by some of the response, some of them have real issues and need to seek help.

  11. I guess I missed the Suffragette Civil War in American History. The Truth is that Universal Suffrage happened only 10 years for Men before it happened for Women. Oops you didn't hear that from your Feminist Leaders did you? Women got the Right to vote, because a number of Men fought for their Rights along side them. It was a mutual effort, even Hilliary Acknowledged that in her Speech in the Democratic Convention. For many Men it was a matter of Social Justice and what was right. Freedom and the Right to vote is a very American ideal.

As for Fighting for your rights. Which Rights are you being Denied in the American Gynocracy? Here is an ideal. If you really believe in Equality for Women. Women in Central Asia are truly oppressed. Women in Pakistan are given in marriage as young as 8. Women in Afghanistan are so oppressed some resort to self immolation to escape their Hellish lives.

A 15 year old Female Suicide Bomber in Iraq who surrendered was put up to it by her Husband's Female relatives. A 8 year old Girl in a Moslem Country is seeking a Divorce from her 50 year old Husband who beats her regularly. They are oppressed. Yet US Women have been silent about Honor Killings here in the US. Moslems practicing Polygamy openly. While they declare US Men violent abusers and Criminals with VAWA and IMBRA.

The presumption of innocence and due process rights of Men have been removed by Joe Biden's Law. Yeah he sure will get my vote. NOT.

  12. i don't know where you live, but wearing that stuff is okay here.

tho, i'd rather be burned at the stake than wear pantyhose! or a skirt for that matter!!! to each his own...
