  1. Awww thats so cute!

My grandparents & mum immigrated to Australia and the first place they lived was in Collingwood.  Two generations later, and we are all still one-eyed Magpie fans just like grandpa - and very proud of it!

  2. It's easy if you live in Sydney.

For the record mate I was born on grand final day in 1973 in Melbourne and I still don't barrack for the tigers!!! I really got into AFL in the early 80's so was easy to go for Hawthorn but it is a natural progression when your own state actually gets it's own team.

  3. i got turned on by jezzas moustach

    followed carlton ever since

  4. I was about 4 and recall my great grandpa watching the hawks play footscray and remember how excited he got when the hawks looked to score.

the my grandparents used to have the hawks games on telly all the time during the season finally I grew to like the game and follow MY team the hawks...

  5. Because they were the first South Australian team to join the AFL!!!

  6. Since I was a little kid I went for the Footscray FC,till I met my fiance at the age of 19.When he past away I decided to stick with Nth Melbourne. When I met my now husband ironically he barracks for Nth Melbourne too,so it was great.

I was a Bulldogs supporter for 14 years and now a Kangaroos supporter for 17 years.

I still like the Bulldogs though.

  7. I was a little boy and just turned  the TV on,all I knew was that Hawthorn had to score 4 converted "tries" to win as they were 20 points behind.

Hawthorn "scored" there tries and won 1972 grand final against St Kilda I think

I grew up in Sydney I didn't have a clue what was being played but I liked it

    Barracked for Hawthorn ever since

Moved to Victoria in 1980 and watched my beloved Hawks dominate the 80's

  8. 1967- i was 5 years old and listened to the tigers beat geelong in the granny, i was spoilt over the next 13 years, wining 5 flags, and now it's dryer than a dead dingo's you know what.    IF nothing else i had a fantastic childhood with the tigers being a power on the field.  go tige's.

Sorry Rogue, I'm not jealous of your popularity, we have more than enough supporters, your mob give it away when you are down the bottom, we had the 3rd highest attendance in the league,we were the bottom side.

i am jealous of all the success you have had over the last 50 years, hahahahahahaha, now that is funny.

  9. Father is English, came to Australia and landed in Melbourne, went to work in the brewery and was taken to a game which involved the mighty Dee's, started from that match, so when I was old enough he took me to a game and have followed ever since, same reason I support Arsenal.

  10. The Bombers wore the some colours as North Sydney, the team I followed in the Rugby League, so as a little kid it made sense to follow them and I've stayed with them ever since much to my dad's dismay (he's a Swans man).

Both my daughter's are Baby Bomber members and I'll be working hard to make sure they don't change sides as they grow older.

  11. As a child bought up in Sydney in a League family, I remember watching a few matches and enjoying AFL. I felt bad for South Melbourne and when they relocated to Sydney and were offered a fresh start, I threw my weight behind them because I wanted to see AFL take off in Sydney. Been a Swans supporter ever since.

  12. When we had the VFL I barracked for Carlton but I always said if we had a WA state based side I would go for them so when Eagles came about I become one of their supporters.

  13. I was born in Collingwood and started to follow the football at 4yrs old i really think the only true supporter are the ones  who stick with the first team they pick to follow through thick and thin and never change to any other team,  that is a true football follower.   MAGPIES  FOREVER.

  14. Well so goes the story .... I lived in Glenroy and my Mum and Dad took me to an Essendon/Geelong game.  Someone from the Bombers whacked Polly Farmer (I think it was anyway) behind the play ... my Mum and I were both so irate we booed an hissed for hours ... I was two!!!!!

Mum bought me a Geelong jumper for my sense of right and wrong!

  15. My mum and 2 sis's were a Hawks fan and my dad was a Doggies fan, So i decided  to follow the Doggies like my dad :)

  16. When i was born i had a blood test the test came back Black&White

  17. hey Richo,i basically had no choice,i was brainwashed at birth with dad, uncle,Nana, and pop all Carlton my fate was sealed,i remember when i was young telling dad i was going to go for essendon and him not speaking to me until id come back around to the blue side-which was probably all of a couple of hours-but his point was made :)

  18. When a was little i just took my dads team, and 24 years later still a bomber fan
