How did you cope being away from family while in Basic training?

i'm a little worried about missing my husband and 2 children while i'm in BCT... I know it's going to busy and hectic most of the time but I was just wondering if anyone has been there and done that...

I'm leaving in 13 days for Air Force Basic Training and up until now I have been very excited to leave and start my career; but the realization that im going to be away from my Dad, Mom, Sister, grandparents, and boyfriend of four years... just hit me pretty hard. I want to cry just thinking about it. I am hoping it's just the nerves and anxiety but I am really having a hard time. Any helpful tips? They are greatly appreciated.
