I'm heading off to college and realizing slowly but surely that my old friends are starting to lose interest in me. It doesn't help that I'm having trouble making friends in college.

How did you deal with the transition? Did you just accept it and suck it up?

  1. Talk to your most trusted friends. Times like these may be very hard for some people and they may think that they won't be able to make friends in college. Well, i can assure you that you will make at LEAST 10 friends in college. Maybe some of whom are going to be good friends.

    Enjoy your college.

    all the best luck!

  2. Your friends aren't actually losing interest in you, it's just that they are into new interests; high school is over and now looking forward to college, work, or the military just like you.  I'm thinking you are more nostalgic than others and all in all, that's a nice way to be.  We all have trouble making new friends when starting college because everything is new.  You'll meet people in your dorm and in classes and that's where new friendships for you will begin.  How about joining some college organization that you think may be interesting.  Clubs are more informal, fun, great for meeting people.

Transition can be difficult and takes time and sure, accept it but try to develop a better attitude than just "suck it up."  Smile and march forward.
