  1. i'm going to use a lot of paper lanterns, tea lights instead of using chandeliers and stuff, i'm also using manzanita trees w/ crystals to decorate the hall and i'm using long tables instead of round tables and put accesories on the tables like flower petals more tea lights and stuff

  2. we had goldfish bowl shaped vases filled with sweets! we put a balloon weight in each one so our balloons were coming out of the middle of the sweets! the guests loved them so much there were no sweets left! we also used those little bottles of bubbles shaped like champagne!

  3. i am on a tight budget so am not having much decoration just flowers i personally think balloons scream party and while thats what it is i want my wedding to be a little more up market so im thinking mirrors and vases with flowers and petals for my centrepieces and maybe a few bouquets to hang from the walls and fairylights rather than anything else sometimes i think simplicity is better at making an impact

  4. we had lanterns and small flower arangements but no balloons, party poppers or anything tacky!!

we just kept everything simple and stylish

  5. We got married in a large tent at a vineyard near san francisco, so having our wedding near a garden helped cut the cost of our decorations. Inside the tent, since the ceiling is so large, we had large centerpieces full of flowers that were 24 inches tall. Then we had LCD lights that strung around the dance floor, and had red lantern balls hanging from the top of the lights. it was beautiful.

  6. We're not doing any decorating in our hall.  It's a beautiful, historic looking room with stone walls and fireplaces, and exposed wood beams.  We booked in for the pure. simple elegance of the room, undecorated.

Our wedding is in late November, so it will be a slight Christmas theme (not like tacky Christmas with santa and fake trees), our colours are gold, silver and dark cranberry, so that is how we are conveying the "Christmas" theme.

The only real decor will be garlands on the fireplace mantels (provided by the venue) and wreaths in the windows (also provided by the venue as part of their seasonal Christmas decor).  We are not having centerpieces, I am just going to make dark cranberry velveteen runners for each of the tables (10 long rectangles, not rounds) and then there will be simple votive candles in glass candles down the centre (3-5 per table).  I don't really like flowers, so there won't be any flowers either.  All the bouquets will be red poinsettias (mine will be pink poinsettias); I'm going to get a couple of square glass vases to put the bouquets in for the reception, they will sit on the floor at the base of the head table, along the front.

I *might* get a couple extra poinsettia plants for the bar area and one to sit on the cake table, but that will come down to budget and how much they will cost.

I believe with the bride and groom, and the bridal party all decked out for the big day, a room doesn't need much decor beyond what's on the tables, especially if you have more elaborate centerpieces.  I'm for simple decor and decoration, because the focus is one the happy couple anyway!

  7. I have a ton of tulle and ribbons/bows. I also will have lights wrapped in tulle draped from the ceiling. I have candles and orchid colored roses w/some island blue daisies in water. I might have balloons, but not sure yet. I have white table clothes and island blue chair covers. Hopefully that gives you some ideas!

  8. We love the rustic look of our reception hall (hardwood everything) and have chosen to only decorate each table with simple centerpieces and nothing else!

  9. Hi we just told the people who did out balloons what we wanted, we used the same decorations we had at the reception as it was all at the same place, but yep we had balloons and bubbles etc, and a big balloon that was massive in the centre of the room that was suppose to get pop our first dance and there were loads of little balloon side the big balloon full of confetti lol

Make it how you want it, I would go mad on everythng thought as its your wedding day/night and you should have it to remember.

  10. we had silver wedding balloons, party poppers etc. the tables were also decorated with flower petals and white and pale pink table cloths.

all the flowers mirrored my bouquet, and we had some dried flowers also. also chocolates, and name plaques were on the tables.

all the pale and white colours looked lovely,

  11. We are letting the florist take care of decorating for our evening reception. For our March wedding we are having 15 tables - 5 with cherry blossom/blooming branching (tall height), 5 with french tulips (med height), and 5 with roses (short height) - I like mixing up the heights b/c our venue is in an old theatre turned reception hall - so it has really high ceilings.  If we find ferns during that time of year we will put them in the corners of the room. She is also putting tealight candles on all the tables to add to the ambiance. The tables will be white table clothes. But we are having green apple and black napkins to add our wedding colors to the tables. And we are going to have black and white damask table cloths or table toppers on the buffet tables. (Our wedding colors are black, white, and green apple/kiwi, like: http://hollysview.blogspot.com/2008/02/g... We are using sparklers when we leave the reception since it will be dark when we leave. Good Luck!!

  12. we used a company they asked what colours we were wearing and did baloons in peach and cream with gold weights keeping them on the table, they used nice throw away table cloths they scattered those gold and silver stars and other things on the tables also put chocolates on the table and we had a lovely string of baloons above where our wedding cake was.it looked lovely and they only charged us £120 that was 7 years ago though.

  13. We'll be having a beach theme wedding,so for centerpieces,we're going to have big seashell candles with seashells and colored rocks around them. The wedding favor boxes are going to be in the shape of a clamshell with mints inside. We will be having coconuts with fruit inside at the bar area.As for balloons, thats more for a party in my opinion, but hey to each their own.If I were to put balloons,I'd probably have them at the sign in table, just two of them with the wedding bells on them.Good luck.
