How did you earn money toward your car?

How long did it take you? When did you start, and how much was the car? What kind of car was it?

Thanks I just need ideas on how to get a car, and how long its gonna take me.

I went to work and saved for my Nissan, Frontier. I rather buy my cars / trucks with cash. I actually already had the money, which I borrowed from myself. I started paying myself back in November '07. Now the loan ($16,500.00) is paid in full.

Waitressing....A long time ago!  Mine was a '76 Ford Pinto-And it was Green!   YIKES!
