  1. I felt justified. I had been suspicious anyway, so when I found out that I was right, I actually felt better than I did when I suspected but everyone was still lying.

  2. What do you mean "Santa does not exist"? That's a blasphemous lie - I declare you the Anti-Santa!!

  3. I was really upset and christmas was never the same after that! I'm not a christian either, just another atheist who uses any excuse for a party!

  4. I was about eight, I think, and I worked it out for myself, haha...I remember being in denial for a while too. Honestly, Christmas has lost a bit of its magic since then.

  5. There is a Santa Claus, there is a Santa Claus. Remember the old newspaper story, "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus"

  6. erm i was kinda skeptical and then my cousins told me, so i wasnt really that upset.

but i imagine its really upsetting for some children!! Sometimes i cant work out whether its cruel to get them to believe in santa, or whether its good bcuz it makes life magical for them?

My cousin is 9 and still believes in santa.....someone really needs to tell her!

  7. Not as mad as I was when I found out evolution isn't true.

  8. I had suspicions too, so it was just comfirming what I already thought.

  9. My father tried to teach me Santa was real but my mother always told me Santa & Christmas are wrong & pagan . Needless to say when i worked out who was telling the truth it lowered my opinion of my father.

  10. He is real, you evil man!!

    Denial is my refuge.

  11. Oh God, repressed memories...

  12. My parents didn't teach me that lie.

  13. I was 5 and i cried

  14. I felt I could not trust a word my parents told me again.

Without any exaggeration, I felt humiliated and let down.

I don't even pretend there is a tooth fairy to my kids now because I would hate them to feel the same way.

  15. wha.......?

  16. Oh, I had rather guessed that, so it was not a great surprise.

It was about 50 years ago for me though !

  17. I didn't really feel anything or care. Same way with God. I wonder why... where was my sympathy during that time.
