  1. I felt the same way I actually followed the bus to school.  For his first day when he came home I had a special snack for him when he got home and we st and ate it together so he could tell me all about his first day of K Monday he starts first grade and he already asked me if we were gonna have our special snack together and I told him of course so we will do that again.  Hope this helps

  2. I actually cried a lot but I take him to school everyday and I volunteer two to three times a week for a couple of hours in the morning. I don't volunteer in his classroom I volunteer with reading classes. But you will get use to it. Encourage them that you are happy and they will be happy too.

  3. I felt free.  I was excited about having time to myself.

  4. Much like you..i worried a little but knew he would be fine. I was one of the lucky ones as my child was excited about going, some of the other kids were screaming and crying and holding their parents leg.. WOW, im SO glad i didnt have that happen. She will learn a LOT, mine came out reading and it AMAZED me how much they learn and how quick.

  5. My first...I cried!   Just watching my 'little man' walk off alone into the hands of a stranger (teacher).

My other two....was like WAHOO!!  Their bags were packed for weeks.

  6. My daughter will be in Kindergarten this year, but she actually has been going to school for 2 years already, so kindergarten isn't a big deal.  On her 1st day of Early Childhood (class for 3-year olds) I was excited, but still teared up a bit when she go on the bus!

  7. When my oldest started I was a nervous wreck to the point I made myself sick thinking of what could happen and mommy wouldn't be there.  She came out of the school at 3:00 skipping and happy ready to show me what she had done that day so then I felt like an idiot for all the worry.

When the next one started school, I walked her to the door, kissed her cheek and off she went, of course her big sister was there so it was easier.

When my son started I took him to school and walked him to his class then stood outside for a few minutes crying.......my baby started school.  I spent most of the day with a box of tissues and again he came home happy and telling me all about his new friends.

Now I look back and think wow I was worried that much about school.  Today my oldest turned 16 and got her drivers license so now I am really worried.  I will take the first day of school anytime.
