  1. My love for horses started at age 2, and it just continued to grow. As an adult I have taught other to ride. My children also share my love of horses and barrel racing. I cannot see myself without a horse as long as I'm breathing.

  2. I guess I started to get interested in riding after my cousin started taking lessons. So, Mom and Dad got me riding lessons too. It was only for a short time though, because the owner of the horses was making it a rip off, by getting us to do the barn chores, and us having to pay her $80 a month for about 20 minutes of riding a week. I was 9 then, and I'm still interested in riding now and I'm 15, and recently started riding again.I hope to ride for life too:)

  3. I've ALWAYS had a love for horses and horseback riding. Ever since I first sat on a small pony named Ginger when I was like 2 or 3! lol.

So when I was, I think, around 9 or 10, I got riding lessons with 3 other of my friends at school. It was pretty much the only thing I talked about lol. Pretty much all of the girls in my family have ridden horses. After a couple of years, most of my friends were into barbies, brats and clothes. By this time I was burning my barbies' heads (hehe, good times) but keeping the brushes and using them for my horse figurines XD

    What about you?

  4. It all started when my mother was pregnant with me... she would go for short rides occasionally. once i was born i was put on the horse with my mom and dad.

i rode with someone until i was about 4 years old when i got my first horse, an 18hh Percheron mare. Her name was Ida.

From there i have had many many many horses. i have been bucked off, reared off, fallen off, kicked, biten, stepped on, stepped over, and SO MUCH MORE!

  5. My mom said that I was facinated by horses before I could walk or talk and was asking for one as soon as I could say "horse".  I don't come from a horsey family so my parents just didn't know what to make of me.  I have 6 brothers and sisters, none of whom are "horsey".  Go figure.

  6. I've been around horse since I was young but all because of my best friend.  She owned horses and she just got me into them

  7. My sister rode them and my old best friend did too.

Kinda caught on, I used to be obsessed with donkeys LOL.

  8. I was the typical little girl who asked for a pony for every occasion that required a present.  But I was never around them, I just thought they looked fun.  I went to a summer camp when I was 7 or 8, and they had trail rides as one of the activities there.  I had so much fun, especially when my horse started galloping with me (which I later learned was just trotting LOL).  I decided the next year I wanted to go to the summer camp where I got to ride horses every day, but I didn't want to be a beginner, so my mom agreed to buy me 10 riding lessons so I would be prepared.  Well, after 10 lessons, she never said anything so I never asked and just kept going.  She thought it was "a phase" that I'd grow out of...sucker.  20 years later I own 3 horses and horse property, train some horses on the side, and give some riding lessons.  It's more than a hobby now, it's a lifestyle!

  9. I didn't have the chance to grow up with horses. One day I was looking at some paintings in an art gallery with a woman I knew. We saw a picture of a horse and I made a joke "you should get a horse" and she said they take too much water.

I saw her a few months later and funny thing was she had a horse! She was volunteering at this rescue ranch so I followed her out there and have been hooked on horses ever since.

  10. i always loved them, just never got to see any.

finally i joined a dance team and met my old friend

she and i became bff and she told me about where she rides

she found out because of her other friend.

then she took me there an i LOVED it

now i volunteer at the barn every friday

i am starting to have more lessons

    ((((:

  11. I was born liking horses. I only read books about horses. Smokey the Cow Horse, Old Bones, Black Beauty, and National Velvet to name a few. I only drew pictures of horses. I can't remember when I wasn't interested in horses.

  12. My mum competed before i was born, when i was born i already had my own pony and pretty much grew up with them. However i would refuse to ride it and only groom her. I used to creep out at night and sleep in her stable apparently lol.

Anyway we moved to different countries, my mums horse died :( and mine got sold. I went to many other riding schools wilst in differt countries. Then when i returned to England i had a break of riding. Then i found a love for it again at different riding schools. I was a full time dancer and i had to decide to choose dancing or riding. i was professionaly dancing and was only a beginner rider but i choose riding. A year later i fell in love with 5 horses and havent left them since, i now compete at a igh level and i love my life.

Thats how i got interested in horses. lol

  13. I grew up loving horses so much that my parents decided to let me get lessons to ride horses. I previously ride western, but now I'm about to start english. :)

  14. Like all little girls I liked ponies and horses. I would always go on the pony rides and i thought that was so cool. Most girls grow out of the whole pony thing, and I just didn't. I would read any horse book I could get my hands on and finally my parents realized that horses weren't going to be something I would forget about so they let me start lessoning when I was 9 and I've been hooked ever since

  15. I always liked horses because my mom used to have them when she was little and was always getting me horse toys as a kid.  Then when I was like 8, my dad went to look at a little plane (he had his pilot's license) and there were these 2 horses in a field.  When we got home, I told my mom about them and the guy ended up selling both of them PLUS a saddle for $500 TOTAL.  One was a grade palomino QH, and the other was her daughter, a chestnut QH/Arab who was 3 years old and still trying to nurse!!! They never weaned her (or halter broke her as we soon found out).  The palomino mare ended up being the best trail horse ever and we still have her, 13 years later.  I learned to ride on her.

  16. Since I was small I LOVED horses. I was horse crazy. (still am)

Then of course I freaked when my parents let me take lessons.

    Love HORSES!

  17. I've loved horses for as long as I can remember, and last year my parents got me riding lessons for my birthday. now I've been riding for nine months.

  18. After I failed utterly at ballet, gymnastics, karate, art classes, baseball, softball, and various other things, my mom's last ditch effort was horseback riding.  A decade later, I have 8 horses!  I'm with you, I hope to be a lifer.

  19. I was born into them. My great-great  grandpa owned a ranch.

  20. i was born into a family who had horses for years.....

  21. I was born into horses. I was on a horse before I could walk, and never stopped riding

  22. I didn't really get into horses until I was six or seven. I took riding lessons for years, and I still am. I don't think you can make yourself like horses. Sometimes it just takes the right horse

  23. I've always wanted a horse - ever since I saw one (probably around 3-4). I had a "twin" in middle school that rode horses - and so I pestered and nagged my parents until they got me riding lessons. I never looked back. :)

  24. I don't know. My aunt  put my sister and I on her horse in a pen, as a baby siter, and it went from there, My sister was riding befor she was walking. 67 years latter I still have a horse, most of my life I had horses and work with them from.hack to circus. but I do not ride any more. I do like looking out and seeing the mare in the field eating and running.
