  1. I am a student at Penn State Univ. Park. There are many things that they look for in a student, especially a highly rated school like Penn State.

I'm going to list everything they looked at and what the average is for acceptance. Note that the other campuses have lower requirements. Also if you do go to a smaller campus your last two years will be at University Park if you wish.

    FIRST OF ALL:

Required Subjects and years taking them in High School:

    English

    - Four units, including one unit each in composition and literature

    Foreign Language/Social Studies/Art/Humanities

-Five units in any combination of foreign language, social studies, arts, and humanities are required, and two units of the same foreign language are recommended.

    Science

-Three unites of science are required

    Math

-Three units of mathematics are required (four are recommended), selected from any combination of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry

Penn State requires proof of graduation or a GED for admission to four-year degree programs.

    NEXT THE AVERAGES (Mid-50% Range):

GPA of 3.57-3.97 on 4.0 Scale

    Combined SAT 1740-1980

    Combined ACT (If Taken) 26-30

They also look at your interview, your extra-curricular activites (clubs) and your personal essay. The most important thing is your Grade Point Average, though!

If you get in, I'll see you at a football game!

Good Luck and I hope this helps.
