So, all you actors out there, I am 13 and I am already in an art school, in the theatre major. I have been in many plays, but I know it is really hard to make it on Broadway and in Hollywood, and I really want to! Just 2 years ago, a guy from my school only 12 years old got in a broadway play, i forget the name of it but i saw this newspaper clipping hung up at my school about it. But, I dont know where to start... So it would help if you gave me some tips i know a lot of them such as, get an agent, move to LA or new york, etc so yea

  1. lol i love how you sayd "All you actors out there"

First of all you dont have to move any where! Thats first so dont go convincing your parents that you need to move because if you do its not guarteed that you'll get a job!

First off, what you need to do is find some theater clubs, classes, and auditions out where ever you live.

You need to begin to build you a resume! Start looking for local theater/impromtou clubs/plays that you can join.

SEcond, you got a digital camera? i know you do! Take a headshot of your self them print it out. and have about 20 of them.

Just begin to audition and build your resume.

    GOOD LUCK

  2. Okay, you have the right mindset and you are in pretty much the perfect age range for wanting to become an actor :D

So what you have to start out with is this...

    1) Get into the drama class at your school immediately

    2) Drop by your public library and pick up 3-4 books on acting (and read them all ! but don't stop there, keep getting more and more books:)

    3) Audition for all, and every performance venue at your school. (the more experience you get, the better!)

    4) Swing by a local community college and take a couple acting classes

    5) start memorizing and working on (extensively) audition monologues

    6) Audition for all of your local community theatre, and church performances etc...

    7) Talk to your parents (if you feel you are a strong enough performer, and if you like acting) about helping you achieve a career in acting.

    8) Get some headshots done (nothing too expensive or flashy, just something clean and professional)

    9) Find and audition for nearly all SAG or AFTRA approved talent agencies

9 1/2) If you don't want an agent, you can always audition at cattle calls, showcases, or talent searches

    10) and remember... ACTING IS A VERY ROCKY CAREER CHOICE :D be ready for lots of rejection, criticism, hard work, and perseverance

but you can do it!! ^.^
