Okay here it is

After finishing with her dad Caitlyn noticed she could see traffic crossing a bridge on the other side of the lake she kept count of the pickup trucks that crossed the bridge out of the 18 trucks she counted 17 camper shells 8 had cb antennas and 7 had both How many trucks had camper shells and antennas Hint use a Venn diagram

  1. Yes, the best way is to use a Venn diagram.

    Draw 2 circles that look like this: http://www.louisianavoices.org/images/ed...

    Label the left circle "camper shells", the right circle "cb antennas".

    Based on the given info, put 7 at the space the two circles overlapped (this mean 7 trucks have both things).

    Now since 8 has cb antennas, look at the right circle. there is already a 7 in that circle, so put a 1 in the circle but not at the overlapped part.

    Next we have 17 camper shells. there is already a 7 in that circle, so put a 10 in the left circle but not at the overlapped part.

    You have completed the Venn diagram.

    Now I'm not sure what your problem is asking for you to find.

    If it's asking how many trucks that had both, it is 7.

    If it's asking how many trucks had camper shells alone, it is 10.

    If it's asking how many trucks had cb antennas alone, it is 1.

    Please check your paper/textbook again.
