  1. I just knew...it was the perfect dress for me and it was even well under my budget!! I also refused to take it off and cried once it was on...  I'm still very happy with the choice I made 2 years ago this Tuesday (2nd)

  2. That is just one of those things that you just know. I tried on only 3 dresses and decided on the very first one that was three sizes too big but i knew i had to have it.

  3. I designed it myself, so it was literally my dream dress!  It will be exactly what I want it to be, with the help of my very talented mother making my design a reality.

Edit: OMG Tammyj, the gown I designed sounds scarily close to your gown! Mine doesn't have any beading because it's all lace and I'm kind of a simple details person.  You have great taste girl!

  4. I didn't try on ANY dresses.  I purchased a Bridal magazine (every Bride needs at least one....LOL)  My fiance' and I both marked the dresses that we liked and then I designed my gown based on the styles that we both liked.  He chose all tight skirts (he likes my curvy hips) and I chose all long trains.

I made my Gown myself.  It has a scoop neck and a mermaid style skirt.  I wanted a train like the one on my mother's gown that she wore fifty years ago, but it was impossible for me to duplicate my Grandmothers intricate bead and embroidery work  So my mother gave me permission and her train was carefully removed from her gown and attached to mine.  I LOVE my dress and can hardly wait to wear it!!  (PS... I love to brag about this....total cost of my gown was $26.00)

  5. Because I fell in love with it and stopped looking at other dresses.

  6. I tried on a BUNCH of dresses! The one I ended up with my sister pulled off the rack, but after looking at the price tag, I tried it on for her pleasure, but didn't look at myself in the mirror b/c it was so beautiful. A few weeks later, i went back to the same store with mom this time, and she pulled it off the rack! This time I tried it on for her ~ and I looked in the mirror - and then there were the infamous tears I kept hearing about! It was perfect. So I decided to cut back on fast food to pay the extra for the dress.
