I've been doing business studies in S+E and today we ha d a huge depressing lesson about how if we make the wrong choices now our lives will turn to poo. Anyways I'm like the only person who doesn't know what they want to be when they get older and I wonder how I'm supposed to make the right decisions for a question I'm unsure of. How did you know which job you wanted to do when there are so many and only a selected fe pay enough to get you through life? What should I be? I thought I wanted to be a vet but i can't take blood. I like writing but I don't want to be an author. I can act but that's not really a proper paying carrer you know?

  1. I know how you feel. I too once went through this, which is probably why I never finished college until I was in my thirties. I took a moral inventory of myself. I listed my personality traits and my skills that I had already gained from past experience. I then thought long and hard about what it is that makes me feel alive inside and how I could make money at that. I am now a casemanager for a local youth mentoring program which I am actually having management troubles with at this time. Yet I did go to college to be a social worker and my speciality was to work with youth, so I guess I am actually doing what I enjoy the most. The thing is we need to be happy with our career choices, for it is something that does affect our lives. I have learned that work is not supposed to be fun, yet it should make you feel good inside, you should be able to feel secure that you are good at what you choose to do. Go back to when you were a child and think back to your natural talents and start from there. That should hopefully help you decide what you will be good at. I am discovering that I am great at what I do, however I may be more successful if I go into business for myself, I don't enjoy the management politics that I am dealing with, but the work I do is thrived from my natural talent to want to help others. Thats where you can start from, your natural talents, the things that come easy to you. Go from there and let it grow. Good Luck and let me know what you come up with. Ronda
