Mu husband & I have been TTC for a year almost a year with no sucess. Went to my dr & will be going for some testing this week & so will my husband. She thinks I m ught have PCOS because of some inbetween spotting but is not sure yet. Will find out after all the tests are done. I looked up the symptoms for PCOS & I dont have any of them. I get a period every month & its pretty much on time. But for the past three months with the exception of August I was spotting before my period. How did you know you hade PCOS? What were your symptoms? How did they diagnose you? Wre you able to get pregnant?

  1. I was diagnosed with PCOS last november.  I got my period every month however not regular.  Menstrual cramps were usually pretty bad.  I am now 36 weeks pregnant.

  2. i personally do not have PCOS, but have heard of MANY women getting pregnant w/ PCOS. it's totally possible to reproduce with it.

    so don't lose hope.

    GL!

  3. I knew I had pcos when my dr. diagnosed me back in June of this year.  I quit bc pills back in Oct. of 07 and have been ttc ever since.  I had really irregular cycles (40-60days long).  I also had oily skin.  My doctor did blood tests to confirm that my hormones are out of whack and I do indeed have pcos.  I don't have insulin resistance, but it is thought to be one of the underlying causes of pcos.  I'm still currently trying to conceive.  I will be starting fertility meds next week for the first time.  I have a really good feeling about it!  Good Luck with everything.  If you do have pcos don't worry.  Many women with pcos can get pregnant with a lil help.  Also if you do have pcos and are trying to get pregnant, make sure your doctor is a Reproductive Endocrinologist.  They are very knowledgable about pcos, infertility and will know the best way to try and get you pregnant.  Baby Dust to you!!  :o)

  4. I was diagnosed at age 18. I had very long, irregular cycles (35-55 days) and excessive facial hair. Ultrasounds showed the cycts, and bloodwork confirmed that I was not ovulating. I am not pregnant yet, I did three rounds of Clomid, one with IUI, and I am currently taking a break from treatment.

My two best girlfriends also have PCOS- one has two children (1 with help 1 without help) and the other is expecting her fourth (3 with help 1 without). Neither of them had any of the symptoms that I had- they didn't realize they had a problem until they started TTC.
