Question:

How did you know your dress was the one?

I went to David's Bridal today and tried on five dresses. I actually went there to try and two and see if they had anything else besides what was on the website but my consultant kept bringing me dresses. One of which made me cry and I almost bought it right there. It seems too fancy for what we're planning but if I can't find anything else that gives me such a feeling I may get it anyway and tell etiquette to bite me.

What was your reaction when you found the right one?

  1. I knew my dress was the one when I tried it on and didn't want to take it off.

  2. I was in this shop, it's a mixture of antiques, vintage stuff and just junk. I saw this stunning pink floor-length gown on this hideous mannequin and fell in love with it. It was only $40 so I decided to rescue it. I brought it home and showed my boyfriend and he was like 'it's a wedding dress' ( I didn't buy it as a wedding dress, I just liked it) and I'm like 'hey, good idea!' so that's how the pink dress became my wedding dress.

  3. Aww.  Crying would be a nice way of knowing.  :)  Awww..   Well I knew mine was the one because nothing compared to it.  I kept wanting it, and actually wanted to find something better (as a challenge to myself) but I still can't find anything more than this dress.  Here is a link to mine.  Maggie Sottero; brielle

  4. I cried when I saw myself in the mirror. :)

  5. i knew mine was the one because when i put it on it just felt different then all of the others.  It just looked good, and it's hard to explain but you will DEFINITELY know as corny as this sounds lol.

When i found the right one i was like you and started crying too (another reason i knew )

    Good Luck & Congrats!

  6. I just could imagine walking down the aisle in it and I knew.

  7. This was easy.  I loved it on the hanger and when I pulled it on and looked in the mirror, I just knew.  I went to two more bridal shops, but always came back to the one I bought.  It's just so perfect that you won't be able to even compare it to anything else.  You'll just know.

    Good Luck!

  8. When I started trying on dresses I thought I knew what I was looking for, and after trying on 3 dresses that all looked fairly alike I hadn't really cared for anything.  I had asked to try on one dress that was very different for the other dresses (I never even thought I would get to it because I was sure I would like one of the other dresses better).  I knew the instant I put it on that it was the dress, I hadn't even looked in the mirror yet and knew it was the one.  It just felt different- if that makes any sense.  I knew that not only did I look best in this dress but that I would be comfortable in it all night long!

  9. I actually had my dress picked out and when we went to pay for it I found out that it had been discontinued.  I tried it on in ivory but wanted white. At that time, I had no tears and was just happy with what I found. I went back to look for more and when it was time to give up my sister asked me try on one more.  When I walked out, she had tears in her eyes.  I looked at the dress and melted.  I don't stare at myself often but at this point, I couldn't take me eyes off of the beautiful dress.  David's Bridal here too!

  10. I was just browsing on the web and saw one I really really liked and knew I had to have it. I made an appointment to go and see it and others. When we got there and walked down the first aisle it was sticking out like it was waiting for me. Also it made my mom cry, the other dresses I tried on didn't.

  11. My reaction was contentment and satisfaction...My dress didn't have the "cry factor," but I definitely thought that it looked good and my friends agreed.  It was the opposite of what I thought I was looking for, but it worked for me!  Plus, I was sick of trying dresses on.

  12. i knew i had the right one when the thought of NOT being able to pick that one bothered me.

also i knew it was right for me because it wasnt a classic dress, it was a little crazier that i origionally thought for myself.

i knew it was for me when i tried it on and took a week to debate between the boring "safe" classic one,

and the "ONE" one which was more out of the box.
