  1. many of people start to gain weight because simply they are eating more sugars

    small advice

dont do that and start to work out

  2. Switch your addiction to exercise, and this will limit your weight gain. Nicotine is a stimulant, and when you cease using it, your metabolism will slow down causing you to gain weight. It really depends on whether you have an efficient metabolism or not. When I quit, I drank a ton of water to help me feel full and to flush the toxins out of my body more quickly. Try running, weight lifting, and other resistance and aerobic exercise. If you bust out 20 pushups and situps 3-4 times a day, this will help keep your metabolism going faster. Also, keep healthy foods near you and throw out foods that are high in fat. Good luck with this!

  3. I joined a gym and started cycling to work the same time I gave up. The only weight I have gained in 3 months is muscle tone.

I was careful not to eat sweets or snack when I got cravings (a glass of water or sugar free gum if I had to put something in my mouth) but I have been eating more at mealtimes - everything just tastes better.

I'm not overweight though - apparently the more overweight you are to start with the more likely you are to gain weight if you stop smoking.

Don't let it stop you though, I feel SO much better now I'm not smoking.

  4. For some of us weight gain is an unfortunate side effect of quitting smoking. Even if you do gain weight it will only be a few pounds at the very most. While weight gain is unfortunate it is by no means inevitable.

You have already decided to improve your health by quitting smoking so why not make it a complete health make over. That's exactly what I did.

By making some healthier eating choices and performing 30 minutes of aerobic activity(biking, jogging etc) every day you will keep those extra pounds at bay. You will be wanting to snack instead of smoke so it is a good idea to stock up on fruit and veggies you can nibble on. Throw away all of the salty and sugary snacks in your house, they will be far too tempting.

Trust me, it is easier to prevent weight gain than it is to actually lose weight. Keeping the weight off is easy if you decide to keep your healthy lifestyle after you have quit smoking.
