  1. by selling my kidney

  2. There are two sources for student loans -- the federal government and private lenders. In order to obtain most federal student loans, you will first need to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In most<!--instances the FAFSA is required for all federal financial aid including federal student loans. Deferment options are available while you are still attending school at least half-time.  There are four main federal loan programs.

Federal loan consolidation is for students who are in repayment status or parents who wish to extend the repayment period on their current PLUS and obtain a fixed interest rate for the life of the loan-->you can combine all of your eligible federal student loans into one loan with a Federal Consolidation Loan. Consolidating also locks the interest rate you pay on your loan.

  3. There are a number of goverment programsm including grants you can obtain that you do not have to pay back, there also is goverment loans that allow you to float the loan until you graduate, you should go talk to the fincial dept in your college, even a local college can help you with forms and applications and explain pay back options and extra.

  4. I was a Chip and Dale male dancer. So ya, strip your way through college.

  5. Student Loans....didn't qualify for FAFSA. Parents couldn't afford it...I don't even want to tell you what I owe, it's ridiculous

  6. I joined the service. Pell grants and Fafsa loans are the best way to go otherwise.

  7. I got Pell Grants,  a federally sponsored and administered program that provides grants based on need to undergraduate students, since my mother has a low income. Check it out, you may qualify

  8. Loans are based on how much you need. You can get what ever you need and its back by the goverment (Because you don't have credit yet and the goverement runs on the people and people with more education ect). Usually, you wont have to pay untill you graduate and usually it will be over 30 years time depending on the intrest. So make sure its a loan to pay AFTER school so by then you will have a job to pay it.

  9. worked crappy jobs to pay for it

  10. My first year was free; I was on a swimming scholarship.  THen I transfered schools and my dad paid.

  11. This is a pretty standard question.  Without spending too much time in a financial aid office, there is plenty you can do get the process started.

Start by going to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and filling out the online form for federal student aid.  After finding out what you are eligible for in terms of subsidized stafford loans, you can figure out if that is enough to finance your tuition and expenses.  In most cases, it isn't.  If you find that you need more money then you are offered, you may want to try a private student loan.

The best thing to do is compare the different private lenders out there, which can be done at http://www.finaid.org/loans/privatestude...

Most of the rates are very similar but do a little research and pick one that you think is best.  I would suggest Think Financial.  The application process is very quick and easy, and the check is sent directly to you so you can use the money for whatever you want.  The limits are much higher with private student loans, up to $40,000 per year.  You can find out more information about a Think loan at http://www.thinkfinancial.com .  Good Luck.

  12. I got a full music scholarship to several different colleges and had my choice.

Now I'm a music teacher and I tell my kids they can go to college for FREE just like me if they stay dedicated!

  13. I took out student loans through a private company.  I had to have a cosigner.  I am paying for them now and will be paying for them for about 30 more years.  I have been out for 4 years.  I'm not making any head way.

Look into scholarships.  But, they don't work out for everyone.

  14. I am paying for college through scholarships, grants, and loans. I am so glad that I am almost done~! I am not looking forward to the loan payments afterwards though! Try to get grants and scholarships! Every little bit helps!

  15. i was away from the family when i was in college. my father sends me money (including allowances) everytime my tuition fee was due. the amount was taken from my father's salary. after college graduation, i immediately landed a good paying job in a hospital in the city.
