How did you propose marriage or how did your partner propose to you?

he did it right after he got up. sat on the couch with me and asked me right then and there. unfortunately his mom died that same night.

He went to see my parents, asked for permission and asked them to keep it secret.  He then borrowed a ring from my jewellery box for size and bought the ring.  He then waited until we were going to sleep one night and threw the ring box at me and said he had something to ask me...and the rest is history (we married almost 4 weeks ago)

We were just hanging out with a friend in his pool room, shooting 8 ball and just talking. My friend had just a couple of days before proposed to his girlfriend, and we were just talking about marriage and stuff. I don't know...It was just spur of the moment, I cornered my girlfriend up against the back wall of the pool room, and just said "Well...Would you marry me?" She was so shocked at the suddenness all she could say was "I guess so...."

31+ years married, 5 kids, 3 grand kids. May not have been that romantic in a classical sense, but it got the job done. We both giggle about it every now and then.

He showed up at my door w/ flowers and asked me to marry him- no knee, no ring, and I was holding my cat. lol. I said yes.

Had her fly up to see me where I was at for extended business. Before she got there I brought 100 red roses in to the airport and passed them all out except the last twelve. I showed each person a picture of her and asked them to give her the rose and tell her that I wanted her to know I loved her. By the time I had all those roses passed out, everyone was really getting into the whole thing. I was waiting in the back with a large sign that said "I'm looking for the most beautiful woman in the world" and at the bottom it said "I love you Jody".

It's a long story, but basically took me to my favorite spot (where we had gone for our one year annivesary) and gave me a book I've wanted for eons.  When I opened the book I saw he had wrote how much he loved me on each page until I got to a page with a square cut out of it and he had written "Will you marry me?" and there was a ring inside of it.  :)

I loved it.

And he had bought two copies of the book and gave me one without any writing or anything on it.

It was before his company Xmas party. I was finishing getting ready in the bathroom. Checking my hair, makeup that kinda thing. He was walking back and forth, back and forth in the living room. I could tell something was up but I just figured he was getting super hot in his suit. I walked out we hugged. He started to tell me a story about a conversation him and his dad had, "when you know you found the one" conversation. Then he reached in his pocket and grabbed the ring and asked. I was so shocked all I could say was "Are you sure" He still doesn't let me forget that! And then I said yes!

It was the best Xmas party I had ever gone too!!

My b/f was having Sunday lunch with my family.  Half way through the meal he asked my Dad if he could marry me.  My little  brother laughed his head off, my Mum choked on her roast beef and I could have killed him because he hadn't asked me yet.  Then my Dad made it worse by asking my b/f how he was going to support me and I stormed out of the room furious whilst they both laughed because they had planned it together at the pub before lunch.  (We were married for 25 years and had four children).

well me and my fiance had been together 7 months when feb the 29th (leap year) came along.  i made him a special dinner then for desert i baked a cake and iced 'will you marry me?' on it with 2 of those gummy ring sweets next to it.  He was so shocked when i brought it in and said yes straight away and then i started to cry!  then i put one of the gummy rings on his finger and he did the same with mine and the next day took me ring shopping for a proper ring.  now we are getting married this nov 29th and wont even have been together a year and a half but when you know you have foudn the one why wait?  alot of ppl say i did the wrong thing asking but i have never regreted it.  my fiance tells me it meant so much more me proposing then him cos now he knows i want to be with him for the rest of my life.

We were on hols in Cyprus... he went into the bathroom to have a shower before we went out for dinner. Then I went to have one, and as I pulled the curtain back I saw writing on the mirror, "will u marry me" and just as I read it he opened the door and said "Well???" Of course I said yes.
