How did you propose or how did he propose?

just wondering about the different ways it can be done.

We were naked in bed one night when I popped the question.

on their anni, my friend's boyfriend sent her a balloon and a card with a huge needle in it. the card said "i love you because you love me for who I am on the inside. take this needle and with it you will see how much I love you." she popped the balloon and out fell her engagement ring.

Oh, it was sooo romantic (not).  I was at my Dad's house taking care of him and my family was driving me nutso.  I was on the phone with my partner whining about it, and I just said, "Hey, let's get married."  End of discussion.

We were just sitting around watching South Park and he said "So when do you wanna get married?" and I said, "I dunno, next week?"  XD

hasnt happened yet, but we have a tumbed date for a potential engagement date if we both feel the time is ready then, so that will be first step

so i guess when the date close we'll revisit the topic, or we'll bring it up sooner if we feel there is reason for it

we're very  much talk talk talk discuss type couple, we do a Lot of that, so one way or another the likelyhood is that both engagement and wedding dates will be set through mutual discusion

and then plan something special to do on the engagement day to celebrate it

We were watching some boat races on a patch of grass under a maple tree. We were enjoying hotdogs and pepsi and I had decided to wear a skirt to the event. My skirt was bunched up and it was a bit windy so I passed him my pop and said. " hold this so I can fix my bum"

he laughed and let me fix my skirt. Then he gave me his pop and said. " Hold this so I can fix my bum." Then he got up and from his back pocket pulled out a ring box. I started to laugh and cry at the same time and saying Yes over and over again.

There were some people on the grass ahead of us so they came over and took pictures for me. Some nice old ladies came over to congratulate us and wish us luck.

It wasn't how my Fiance wanted to do it and he is a little embarrassed that his proposal started with " hold this so I can fix my bum." but it was just perfect.

took me to a secluded spot on the beach where he had set up pillows and candles and  roses my favorite dinner [at night]. he had a seagle that he rented bring the ring to me in its mouth. of course; we got devorced six months later ;]

My family has a cabin on a beautiful lake and most nights my now-wife and I would go down to watch the sunset and when we went down there she looked one way and I got down on one knee.

There is some humor to this one. I meant to do it the night before but when we got down to the lake, the mosquitoes were terrible. So we ended up running back up the stairs and I had to race her up the stairs because my family was in the cabin about to congratulate us.

The night I did propose, she thought I was going to push her in the water.

We had been talking about a date for a few weeks.

One day we were discussing it, she had to run up to the store. I called the court house and found out all we needed was a couple rings, $25.00 and a willing partner.

When she returned from the store I asked if she wanted to go for a ride, she said yeah.

We pulled up in front of the courthouse and she asked what we were doing there. I said you want to grow old with me?

We were so poor no-one threw rice, they just kinda kicked dust our way. We did not have any rings so I made a paper clip band for her.

That was 22yrs, 2 children and 1 grandchild ago!

i think that my answer tops them all. my husband had a business trip in new york in december, in 2005 and he asked me to come along, i have never been to new york... or on an airplane, i live in california. but either way, i was on the fence about going, my husbands boss was wanting me to go really bad as well, since i have never been, and my husband is well-travelled

so a couple of days latter i agreed, and off we went a non-stop from san francisco t new york,

when my husband was in meetings most of the day for work. i went shopping on 5th ave, and picked out an amazing outfit, because we were supposed to see a broadway show.

we ended up taking a carriage ride through central park, and it was snowing and just amazing. while we were trotting along he grabbed my hand and asked "will you marry me? and i said YES.

and my engagement ring was stunning-

we ended the night going to dinner at smith & wolenskies

and we flew back home the next day.
