Okay, so my father, brother, sister, and I are going to Kings Island soon. Since there is only one parent, we don't know what to do about my sister, when my dad, brother, and I go on the big roller coasters. Would the ride operators watch her? The thing is, is that she is tall enough to ride everything there, but doesn't like to ride roller coasters with loops. Also, my brother doesn't like swinging ship rides, and wooden roller coasters, so we don't know what to do when my dad, sister, and I go on those. So, please just give me some information on how to keep on child safe, while everyone else in their group is on a roller coaster. Please and thank you!

  1. No, the ride operators can not and will not watch your sister. That is not their responsibility. Also, it is highly unlikely that there is any onsite babysitting. If she is tall enough, try bribing her to ride. The child swap passees are generally for partiers with children too small to ride, not too scared. This is so they can swap riders. This way, you only wait in line once, not twice. How old is you sister and brother? If they are at least 10, they can sit on a bench and play nintendo DS or eat a pretzle while they wait for you.

  2. have everyone take turns riding rides and watching the kids that is what my parents did with me and my bro when I was young and didn't like roller coasters or just get her on the rides

  3. No. Do NOT leave your sibling with some stranger. That's insane. Sorry to say this, but the only responsible thing to do is just to have one person wait with the person who can't go on the ride. (If you have a friend who is old enough to watch kids you could invite him/her to come with you to King's Island and watch your siblings for you).

  4. I used to work at a theme park as a ride operator. Generally, the procedure is this... The whole family has to wait in line. If there's a small kid that doesn't want to/can't ride when it's time for the others to, a parent can cross over the train with the child and wait with them while the rest of the group waits. When the group returns, they can take control of the kid while that parent rides.

Alternatively, you can sort it out before riding so that one part of the group will ride the ride while the kid and another part of the group still wait in line. Then, when the first group is done riding, the kid can be passed over to the group that's done riding and let the group in line ride then.

Regardless, ride operators will NOT watch the kid, as 100% of their attention should be devoted to safely operating the ride.

  5. get a baby sitter to come along and let your sister stay with them on the rides she doesnt want to ride
