How did you start like anime/manga?

My friend liked it so i went to the library and got fruits basket thus an otaku was born!

Anime:

When I was a kid I have figured it out that the one where the end credits are japanese characters (kanji) are anime (as differentiated from the usual american cartoons) and I preferred them over the latter. I am one of those anime-converts due to robotech (macross) about almost twenty years back, I think ^_^ (no, internet back then, no sir)

Manga:

I only enjoyed reading manga in my college years. There was this comic/manga store I used to hang-out to (I befriended the owner). My first manga was Ranma 1/2 by Viz comics, then that was the time I started collecting manga (oh my goddess, gunsmith cats).

The first anime I recognized as anime was Cardcaptor Sakura, I became obsessed with anime then, couple years later a friend showed me Wish manga and I fell in love with manga. It seems everytime I see something Clamp I fall in love with it. :D I now love manga more than anime but I still watch it. I collect so much manga its crazy, I stopped counting but its around 700 or more books. XD;; its taking over my life!

i grew up watching it. my first one was probably sailor moon when i was around 6 or 7. after my legs got burned after my mom spilled boiling soup on them, i remember my dad would go out and buy me "sailor moon tapes" and that would cheer me right up and i would forget the pain. and i also remember every time he went on a business trip to taiwan or hong kong, he would bring me back sailor moon manga. it was a very heartwarming memory. and after that i continued to watch more anime. my second being cardcaptor sakura and then shaman king, inuyasha and so on. and now i cant live without it^^

when I was about 7 I started watching Sailor Moon (yes, I like Sailor Moon, anyway who has a problem with that..=P) After a while some of my friends starting talking about others shows like Inuyasha and Bleach, now I LOVE heaps of anime

Oh, haha, now I remember.  Well a friend of mine's older sister was looking at one, I think it was Fushigi Yuugi, anyways, I looked over her shoulder and the pic had a naked girl!  I was soooo shocked, it isn't that big enough deal to find it now, and you see more of that in that artist's works, but I was surprised.  Alas, curiosity won over over and I asked to look at it- not as a pervert, just wondering what kind of comic has naked ladies, LOL.  She told me to read it backwards and I've loved it ever since.

It's interesting, looking back at it, that my tastes and preference for mangas have changed and developed over time, :)  Hmmn...

i started watching naruto on ytv then some of my friends told me that i could watch it online.... after that i looked for similar anime online and thats how i got into it

Well college lectures tend to get a bit boring, so, i started watching anime on my friends laptop. Now im so into it, ive downloaded all d. gray-man, one piece, code geass r1 and r2, macross frontier, nabari no ou, and bleach.... i could go on. Yes im obsessed with anime now. As for college... dont let anime take over, just for the boring classes (for me art and music history)

Haha Simple!!! I started liking anime since 7 years ago. Let's say... For anime, I started being obsessed with it when I started watching the anime "Shin Hakkenden" As for manga, my friend allowed me to read the manga "Love Hina" Since then, I have been interested in anime. Haha

My current favourite anime is Shounen Onmyouji. You should watch it!!
