  1. My niece moved to Perth about 3 years ago. They are returning to the UK in December cos it just wasn't what they expected. Getting a decent paying job has been near impossible, despite the claims. My niece is a primary school teacher, and just could not find work. Her husband is a qualified aircraft technician, but the jobs he got were so badly paid, it wasn't worth working. If you are moving to Oz to have sun, BBQ's on the beach, fantastic lifestyle, think carefully - Australia is a huge country, and the cities are big too. Chances are, you will be living a long way from the beach, and it might very well be too hot to spend all that time outside. Why do you think so many people return? Because things are cheaper over there, you also have to consider that if you do return, you could very well be in a much worse position than when you left. Also consider the family thing - Oz isn't a 2 hour flight from home to see parents etc., and flights can be very expensive.

On the plus side, if things go well, you could be much better off than in UK (assuming you are in UK) - rain, recession, Gordon Brown.

Go to Melbourne - voted best place in the world to live.

  2. omg i always wanted 2 live in Australia since year 3 !!! Ive done loads of project on it and got A. Great country its not that much diffident from the UK it had a lower crime rate but it still had murder n that like every country, its a lot more sunny the winter is our summer. Has the most habitats in a country than any other country so great if you like animals. It maily has 1 floor houses. had a bad record for alcohol. and you might be called a pommy

  3. in australia, i think there is more discipline in the younger kids, i spent 3 months there and that is the impression i got. they have a culture where more respect is givin to the elders which is unlike the UK today. Also they do different things as hobbies and have different diets etc.

When it comes to family, they are very united on a whole. They spend a lot of time together. Life is way different in Australia than the UK, they have better lifestyle and everything seems more relaxed

  4. How different is family life in UK, compared to family life in the Brazil?

  6. im from Australia and i cant say that i think family life would be much different from in the UK.. we live a pretty normal life..kids go to school from 5 years old and finsh at around 18 years old..then there is universtiy for those who want to go. My family was pretty laid back..one of my best friends is from the UK his mother and father moved over here when his mother was pregnant.. they seem to really love it here..the only difference i can see from my family to his is that they are much more religious then my family.. they say grace before every meal and go to church.. but then again there are some families in Australia that are very religious.. personally i think you make your family what you want it to be..so you can bring what ever tradtions you like an adapt them into whatever culture and country you decide to move to.. Australia is a beautiful place i hope if you ever come here you love it as much as i do
