How different would the world be if some people actually did have psychic powers?

Question

Overnight some magic occurs and all the people in the world that claim they have psychic powers suddenly really do....

How would the world be affected? Would that mean you would never marry the wrong person and have to get divorced, never be ripped off in a deal? Would psychics be immensely rich and powerful? Would they still share their insights for a fee? How many people would be blackmailed by psychics threatening to give away their deepest darkest secrets?

Mmmmm, fun. I think that if all those psychics actually proved themselves true, the world's governments alone would try to lock them up and use them for propaganda... would all of those psychics have to go into hiding? They can all see/read/hear/whatever-the-term-is everyone's thoughts, so all the world leaders would become really worried, I would think. That is, if they were bad. Hence, why the psychics would be in danger. :(

Not because it's really connected to this question, but I'd like to say some wisdom my relatives have told me that they probably got from somewhere else: "People who want a power position don't deserve it; the very people who don't want the position are the ones you should trust with it.

Wayne has a good point that I would like to stress. We all are given the powers we have, just enough to help one another. If we all were given a lot of power, like the power Satan received some of us would lose control and go on a power trip.

And the power you receive is according to the compassion in your heart, we all receive it in different ways for different solutions, problem solving for one another.

I like the question:) But if it came true....somehow I don't think it would be much fun. The powers given are to help from the heart, and not for greed which would happen.

Why is it that people like you try and mock people and yet do it with a smile. You are passive aggressive . You need to fix your attitude or you will never be happy. Unless you have a personality disorder then none of this will mean any thing to you. No this, you are not as clever as you think...

Many people are actually born as babies  with psychic powers and there is nothing extraordinary about this.  No one person has it all.  But people are all different.  One baby can see people that you cannot see, another baby can hear people that you cannot hear and that you have never heard and are not aware of and would call the infant a liar, or a child having a fantasy.  Some  babies grow up having taken the "gift" I am describing, with him/her.  One  baby grows up knowing, sensing the rules.  You could not get it thru the next baby's head if you whacked him over the head with it.  A couple of the rules are Don't take any money for it.  Do it to help others and your gift will grow.  Use it to make  extra money for yourself and this psychic does not stay psychic as the gift is taken away from him/her.  Another rule is:Don't allow yourself to have any pride in psychic accomplishment. Know that the psychic sight and accomplishment comes from and through a line of (living) light  from earth to high heaven.  The one psychic mortal at the bottom does not deserve any pride in the matter; and the  psychic sight is of no credit to him, any more than the color of his skin or eyes or whether he has musical talent or a nice voice is of one's own doing.

Psychic power used rightly opens the person who has it to inspiration.  If he is on an upward path he will use his power for the good of others, not for self.  The more he uses it the better it gets.  Psychics do not always get treated right.  Often they get punished by entities including mortals that LIKE darkness and like breaking the rules, or who are jealous.  If psychics take a fee they won't help you.  If a psychic is disciplined and  of high character and high calibre, he would never blackmail anyone for any reason.

You can call this a just for fun answer if you get more kick out of it that way.  You will just have to wonder, won't you.

The world would be in turmoil and it would turn ordinary people into monsters and wars would be all over the world I couldn't image anything more crazy can you image evryone passing you would be reading your mind and everybody elses they would go raving mad and probably the population would end up in the looney bin now if they was to get rid of all guns in every country we would have a more pleasant world

If aside from being psychic,they were the same as the rest of us.Most of them would be people with good intentions.They would also be sheep,going along to get along.

   A few would not be so benevolent. Imagine a psychic Attila the Hun,Genghis Khan or Hitler.They would have enslaved the world long ago.

Psychic powers are used for positive or negative just like anything else.

The world is in balance the negative will never gain the upper hand for long.

How can it be that some people have won the six digit lottery three times? The world is still safe they blew the money they won.

If this was another venue I might go into detail about how world leaders use psychics for protection.

I didn't really try to answer all your questions, or keep them in order. This is a very serious subject but let's keep it light except for the last question. I want (negative) people everywhere to know what they are up against.

Watch Suspect Zero and thank God that the vast majority of people that take the time to learn the disciplines required are basically "White Lighters" as opposed to psychics who work for dictators and the drug cartels.
