  1. It depends on the school and the coach. There are a maximum hours per week that you're allowed to train as a DIII athlete (I think it's 20, but I could be wrong). You are also required to have one day off every week. However, what the coach chooses to do with those 6 days and 20 hours is up to them.


  2. The person I know who was on a DIII swimming and diving team had twice a day workouts [dry lands and board work - swimmers had dry lands and pool time], early in the morning and then again in the late afternoon or evening.  This began in early October and ran through mid-February [through March if you go to Nationals].  Usually one meet per week, usually on Saturdays.  Away meets were mostly within a two-to-three-hour bus ride, but some were farther away.  It is quite time-consuming, given everything else a student needs to do.
