"If we practice, it becomes a way of life. It becomes a habit to always be what we are and not what we want to be — to hear what people really say, not what we want to hear. If we practice, in a short time we will perceive a completely different world — the world as it is, not the way we want or need it to be to satisfy others' points of view or to satisfy our own lies. If we are what we really are, we don't have to justify our existence anymore. We don't need to be ashamed that we are not what they want us to be. Our whole attitude changes."

  1. It's not easy. Many have already become who they wanted to be and it can not be changed by a simple set of words. Many have to live through stress if they try do be who they really are because everyone else refuses to be who they really are. It's not easy to take a step ahead of the world, and now it's becoming harder and harder every day.

The world won't get better, we have to face that soon enough the world will have to end. It will happen when all have had the chance to choose whether they with accept Christ or not. I wish I could help the world change, but the world won't let me.

  2.   It is much like Tai Chi Chuan breathing...it is difficult at first but with long term practice, it becomes natural and a extension of yourself. To be what your spirit yearns to be, strengthens not only yourself, but those around you. Namaste

  3. Really difficult since I am not so sure what I really am.

  4. NO WORDS CAN EXPLAIN HOW DIFFICULT IT IS

  5. No one can keep up a facade forever. Maybe out in "public".. but ask someone who live with a person- they will tell you the truth.  No one can hide what is inside forever.

    Matthew 23

25 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self‑indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

  6. There are very few people in this world who I am totally comfortable being 100% me around.

It's not because I act differently around others, it's because others just seem to shut me down.

I really like this question. I want to answer it differently, but I don't know how.

  7. Not difficult at all.  It is more difficult to not be your real self as it's not natural.  Natural real self feels authentic, natural thus more of ease.

Reflecting to be not who you really are is not authentic thus difficult, not natural.

On a few occasions in my life I had the thought to reflect to be someone who I really wasn't.  It felt so un-natural not being who I really was that after a very short time, no more than two days, I went back to being who I really am . . . that's feels more peaceful, natural.

I'm joyfully so in my 50's.  It took me awhile to find that comfort zone of feeling at peace, comfortable and confident to simply be ME.  Wisdom that is derived from experience of years . . . it's precious and powerful stuff.

  8. It depends on how much we are attached to and identified with the false self, what we are not.Stronger such attachment more difficult is to slide to what we truly are.Ruiz says it all!

  9. Beliefs are hard to break, being drawn into the world dream by our parents, relatives and teachers we believe our beliefs are real because so many people believe them, plus we reinforce those beliefs to ourselves with our own internal dialog we have with ourselves all day long.

  10. He's right, it does take practice, discipline, sincerity and dedication. It takes courage to be what we are rather than what we are expected to be. Alas, how few can accomplish this!

  11. I yam what I yam and that's all that I yam.

And I be fine with that.

  16. This is pretty deep. In my opinion for alot of people seeing what you want to see and not what is there is better for alot of people. Think about it The world is not happy place, never was probably never will be. IT would be really depressing, and everybody would mope around thinking there's no point in anything, it would be a like a world of mindless zombies. So your right about are attitude changeing, but you forget the downside.

  17. So very, very difficult, that it will take the entirety of my lifetime to perfect who I really am.

  18. To be honest for me very hard at this point in my life with career, love relationships with family members and friends, trying to find my way my purpose my real wants and desires and joys and my spirit to be strong very hard indeed. I think in quiet time in reading, writing helps the spirit become stronger and focused taking care of our physical bodies eating right, exercising helps our minds and souls and inner being feel good about ourselves and the people and things around us. Sometimes too simple is better not to always look so deep into things that cause us pain and suffering because of our wants and desires as we live each day :))) I think right now for myself is self discovery to feel good about me and spread that love to all that I know and meet along the way and love myself unconditionally no matter what my life experiences bring me or my sorrows and disappointments for the way others are in this world for we can never change them or bring them to the light we can only change ourselves and see what happens.....
