Secondly, I get an uneasy stomach when I fly but, I have a passion for aviation. What is the best way to get over my "flight sickness?"

Thank you.

  1. I was a warrant officer aviator in the army for nine years during the Vietnam era. If you want it you can do it but first you'll have to stop putting up obstacles in front of you. What does it matter how difficult it is? Make it happen. You see neither your or I want an army that shy's away from what's hard do we? And you get an uneasy stomach when you fly? C'mon man you'll have dysentery most places your going anyway. Just get in there and make us proud. And thank you for your service my friend.

And G T's just plain full of c**p. You don't need OCS and you won't be jumping out of airplanes, perfectly funtioning or not. And if you can pass the tests, any sixth grader can, you'll be guaranteed flight school when you join. Ask your recruiter about it. And don't listen to the G Ts of the world who gave up. He obviously didn't want it, you do so get with it.

  2. Well it really depends. It could be hard for you if you dont study well.

  3. just takes a simple trip to the army recruiter.   Good vision and good grades are a good start.  Good luck

  4. I believe now you'll need to have a college degree, then pass a bunch tests with very good scores, then pass the physical requirements and at least a 6 year enlistment.  After basic training, you'll have to pass OCS and then you may finally get to become a helicopter pilot, thats if they have a need at the time.

How do I know.......  I've been through the process and backed out when I wouldn't sign up for 6 additional years to go to OCS.  I'd had my fill after 6 months (training with a bunch of people that would actually jump out of a perfectly functioning aircraft was enough to make a decision that 6 more years was way too much for me).
