How difficult is it to receive a large scholarship?

I'm looking to go to a school like University of Chicago. I am one of the top students in my class at one of the best public high schools in the country. I really want to go to U of Chi but I'm skeptical on if I could afford it.

Merit scholarships are tough to get at Chicago but if you're top of class and have a high SAT, you never know. They have need based aid too. You'll never know until you apply so just make sure to have some financial safety schools you like too.

Your best bet is to apply to FAFSA and find out what, if any other options the university offers for financial aid.
