How difficult is it to sell on ebay for the first time?

i have 0% feedback, and am scared my items won't sell as well. how much of an impact will this have on my sales? any suggestions to boost sales are appreciated. also, I recently purchased an item for the first time. Can i use this to boost my feedback?

If you do your job right, a zero feedback won't have an effect. And, yes, purchases and sales go towards your feedback rating.

Buy some inexpensive items on eBay.  It will give you some experience and give you on how sellers operate.  After a feedback score of 10 then you can start selling.  People will trust you more.  I waited until I had about 25.  Another thing to do is go to "Community" and read the various boards, you can pick up a lot of knowlege from other peoples' experience.

well everbody starts off a zero .. just put out a good product , describe you items well when listing, be honest, be friendly and helpfull to your customers .. and they will come if they like what your selling .. been e-baying for over 4 years ..

To sell on ebay you need experience and information. You should use this opportunity to learn and become top seller. Your purchase track would have no use for selling. Atmost it can be used as a verification of your address.

If you're just starting to sell on ebay, you really should be aware of the most common seller mistakes.  They are common, but most people don't know how seriously they effect sales.
