  1. Hey Hey, Then we have something in common :D  I just got done waxing my snow board     Usually some people are just naturals and others it takes them awhile because of balance and control..  Also If your ussing like a cheap plastic snowboard from walmart then it may take you longer..

I just bought a LaMar board from Dunhams, and ive been talking to my friends bout it.. Just make sure you bundle up good..     If your going out on like a mountain or wherever, just remember when you turn to lean back and it will help slow you down.. Hope this helped you.

  2. Thats cool, and you will make it down the hill but you probably won't enjoy it. You are gonna fall but every sport has that problem so don't give up. I learned snowboarding when i was 13, and I wanted to give up the first day cause it was so hard and difficult, but thank god i didnt give up, its so fun when you get the hang of it. It is a long process, learn how to stop first, and make turns, cause thats the most important part.

    Good Luck

  3. hey im an EMT should i be on stand by for you. I think you will do well remember to stay in a low stance and balance be relaxed and you will be a little snowboarding bunny

  4. well i guess it depends some people get it right away and some people it takes them a long time and some people get so fruestrated they quit

  5. well its pretty hard/frustrating on the first day. but most people pick it up after going about twice. unless your like super uncordinated.

but im pretty sure you can make it down the hill on the first day.

good luck. btw lamar boards are really cheap and you might have a tought time with that board. look into other brands like flow, nitro, ride, rome, burton.

    good luck.

  6. Some people believe that it is very hard at the start. It can be difficult at the start but after a few tries u will pretty much have it down. Remember snowboarding only gets easier.

  7. Snowboarding is difficult to pick up, but most people catch on very quickly. You will fall a lot, you will get frustrated and want to quit. Don't, after you go 2 or 3 times you'll be good enough to go down a green or blue without falling. If you can go with someone who is learning too, it will make it much easier to not quit.

  8. I'm told by friends who know that if you have a choice between snowboarding and alpine skiing, you should learn how to snowboard.  However, you can go down hard when you fall (but than what can compare to having your entire leg wrenched when you fall on skiis?).

I don't think anyone can realistically learn how to either snowboard or ski in just one day.  This is why they invented lessons and bunny slopes.  You want to survive the ordeal long enough to get to enjoy the sport, not get injured and wonder why you even tried, right?

Of course if you're young and athletic, all bets are off.  Go for it!

  9. It's pretty easy. Some people pick it up quick, for others it takes a couple of trips.

I remember starting on the more flat, smaller slopes and it took me 2 trips before making it all the way down without falling. I was scared to go up on the steeper slopes, but it really helps you learn how to turn the board, how to pivot on your front foot, and how to stay on the correct edge. After one steep run, the flatter run I had been working on for two days was so easy it was a joke.

Be prepared for a lot of falling and sore muscles. You'll love it though!

    One tip:

Remember...you will always be on the edge that is closest to the top of the hill. If you drop the other edge, you will fall instantly.
