I am buying such a boat and plan to do ocean sailing. I would rather have a wheel than a tiller, and would like to fit her with a wheel. is this possible, and if so, how hard is it?

  1. All wheel steered boats have a spare tiller. The answer to your question is anywhere from easy to very difficult. It depends on how much room you have below for the gearing mechanism that transfers the force from the wheel to the rudder.
