  1. Probably not difficult at all for people living in Greenland.

  2. i went there on a 7 day job to Godthab/ Nuuk and its just like iceland, (if you,ve been there!)

its mainly small villages with stores that sell every thing from kids dummies to 12 bore shotguns, a bit like the wild west!.

the houses are mainly wood and are brightly coloured and the shops are expensive as they have to import most things.

woolen products and fishing jobs are the most popular, which are comparatively low paid are the norm so unless you have money to start you off then trying to settle down might be difficult.

the communities help each other and its not a godforsaken place but it is pretty desolate and winter travel is a no,no to the outsider.

each community has a general shop but restaurants, no.

yes the eskimos are predominant but if you have an idea for settling down then check it out first with tourist info, google search.

    hope this helps
