I have an '01 Kia Rio. A few years ago Circuit City installed 2 Sony subwoofers and a Sony amp. When i took my stereo out to take a peek i noticed that there was a wiring harness and a little black converter box which i assume the subwoofers are connected to because the stock stereo didnt have outlets for a sub. how difficult woud it be from this point to install front and rear speakers bymyself? what tools will i need? thanks in advance for any help

  1. very difficult

  2. It's pretty easy, actually.  If you can't tell how to do it, I'd recommend purchasing the speakers from Crutchfield.  They'll give you detailed instructions on how to access both sets of speakers and exactly what you'll need.  They'll include any necessary wire harnesses to further simplify the install.  If you can follow instructions, you can install car speakers.

  3. it should be pretty easy and you can learn as you go alongyou just have to make sure you have the right size speakers then connect the wires negative with negative positive with positive

the positive is usually red gold or the darker of the two colors exept black

the negative wires are usually black silver or the lightest color

for tools you might need some tape to cover up the peeled wires when you're done a s***w driver to s***w them into place a knife to cut and peel the wires and a cd to liten up

  4. well assuming you already have the wirers for stock speakers

    should be a cinch
