I don't know what to make of this. I understand that Jamaica has a freak of nature in Usain Bolt but how is this little island of 3 million people making a mockery out of U.S. sprinters? My best assumption is that the U.S. is getting a taste of their own medicine because of all of the illegal doping busts that have occurred in recent years.

  1. In China alot of things in the olympics has been disappointing.

  2. America is so controlling even the people trying to control the win of jamaica track. c'mon now get real. one guy say we have nothing to do so we just run. So illiterate and dark. Just shake hands and move on. Not all the time america is gonna beat the world.

  3. "My best assumption is that the U.S. is getting a taste of their own medicine because of all of the illegal doping busts that have occurred in recent years."

Your best assumption is about as wrong as could be, sorry, try again.

  4. Except for a few bright stars, I am disappointed in the US track &

    field team.

How many more times in my lifetime do I have to watch our

relay teams drop the friggin baton.  Many of these athletes

are supposed to be "professional".  What, do they practice

for about 10 minutes in the tunnel before they come out.

    Where's our coaching?

From now on, the US ought to just take all of the winners in

the NCAA championships, and put them in the olympics.

The h**l with these other clowns, who may have lucked out

    at the olympic trials.

  5. I'm half Jamaican and I'm so proud of the Jamaican team! Usain Bolt is just a phenomenal sprinter, then again so is most of the Jamiacan team.

I'm English as well and the relay in the mens was awful, but I have to say, the relay in the US Men AND Women's both shocked and horrified me. USA are normally the best at the track and to drop the batton on BOTH the female and the male races was...weird. I couldn't believe it.

But then again everybody has a bad year, I'm sure the USA will come back in four years stronger than ever. They just got un-lucky I spose. But the Jamaican's have swept the 100+200m sprints in the men and the womens.

    x*x

    EDIT

    Uncle Sam :

I truly hope that isn't a racist comment. The USA got unlucky, thats all. Theres no need to take snipes on their RACE. At least they made it to the Olympics.

    ANOTHER EDIT

Good, his comment has been deleted. There's no need for that kind of racial abuse when sharing mere opinons.

  6. lol...in my opinion, the usa didnt' do THAT bad...take out the Jamaicans and we would've prolly gotten a lot of medals.

ANd besides...USA has a lot of other sports they are good at...Jamaicans only have this...u should be happy for them...i know i am.!!!!!!!

  7. No one can be the best forever.

  8. Very disappointing, but these are the things that happen in sports.  That is why I love sports so much.  One sporting event is high drama from beginning to end.  Look at the US Softball team.  The were a shoe-in to win and Japan came in and scored a major upset.  High Drama!  But Good for Japan, I love when the underdogs win.

  9. The relay race teams for track-and-field for the U.S. aren't going well in the Olympics. Two of the teams missed their baton passes already in the finals.

You heard about that disappointing hurdle miss by Lolo Jones in the 110 meter hurdle finals.

    But the good news....

I think about 4 other U.S. sprinters in non-relay races are going well, winning either gold, silver, or bronze medals.

I also laud an American woman who won the gold medal in the discus.
