How discusted are you when you see a mother or father or both smoking?

Even my children are horrified when they see a baby or child being smoked in front of!

smoking in in front of a child is not the healthiest thing that a person can do.. agreed but...... why are you so concerned about that when there are so many other horrible things that go on in front of a child. how about the mothers that allow their child to see them get beat by a bf or husband, what about the parents that abuse illegal drugs with and in front of their children and the parents that drink in access in front of them. what about the kids that are born addicted to hard core illegal drugs. the kids that are abandoned raped beat. seriously if the worst thing i ever do to my children is light up a cig. in front of them then i am defiantly okay with that because i will protect them from all the things in this cold hard world that should have all of this attentions tobacco is nothing compared to to the things that are children are being exposed to. instead of going after the parents that are smoking a LEGAL cig why don't you spend your time trying to make a difference in children's lives that are getting messed up by the truly ugly things that are happening to them.

I hate seeing parents smoking in the same room as their baby or young kids.  Or in the same car.  I just feel so sorry for the wee baby!

To anyone who gave my answer a thumbs down, so you actually condone smoking in the same room or vehicle as a baby/young child?!  Says more about you than it does about me.  You have the choice to inhale cancer sticks, babies don't.

This view is coming from an ex-smoker might I just add.

People smoke, they have been for years and years and years.

I was a smoker for 15 years, almost half of my life.

I quit 9 months ago!!

I have 3 kids and I smoked in front of them. I knew it was bad but out of my own selfishness I continued.

I didn't blow it in their faces.

I know that's not right either way but a person is going to smoke whether or not they know it's right or wrong.

As long as they don't stand there and blow it directly at them, leave them alone. You can have your opinion but so can we.

Outside is always better than in a vehicle or house.

My father was a 3 pack a day smoker, and he smoked around my older sister and myself, and we weren't harmed by it. He smoked in the house, and in the car.

So get over it.

I think your making the freedom of speech comit suicide. Your using your words to kill one of the most common things people do, when having celebrations, or meals, right next to drinking. The tabaco industry always gets yelled at on telivision, but can't fight back? Oh, and the magazine adds can do that equaly I'm sure. I think you need to suck it up, and just walk somewhere else, and parent your own kid. The older the kid gets, the more it's his, or her fault, for starting the habbit. I clap when I see people smoking in front of their kid. I get mad when I see the kid start smoking, because they seen it to soon.
