How dispose pepper spray

I have old canisters of pepper spray--how should I dispose of them (small 2 inch high)

Pepper spray or mace is hazardous waste just like paint aerosol products. . Call your local waste disposal center. Check your garbage bill for the phone #. I also called local Sheriff’s office. They suggested I call the Metro Waste Disposal Center.  I called and was told to bring the canister to the center for disposal.

Do NOT place in the garbage cart. This item NOT collected by Solid Waste & Recycling or accepted at the South Transfer Station. Disposal with garbage is prohibited.

Call the local police precinct for proper disposal.

Items marked Caution, Caustic, Corrosive, Danger, Flammable, Poison, Volatile, or Warning should be considered a hazardous waste product and proper disposal is required. Do NOT place in garbage. Go to Hennepin County A-Z Guide for additional information.
