Question:

How do Astrological Symbols relating to my birth relate to me as a person now?

I was born February 13, 1985 at exactly 12 noon. How do I find out the various astrological symbols (besides Aquarius) and how they relate to the day and date I was born. I heard that some symbols are thought to be determiners of personality and I want to know my own to determine the truth of this thought in my own life.

Thanks!

  2. You'll need a chart done.  There are various websites where you can get them for free.  Then the question would be: Can YOU relate to what is said about the signs in each "house"?

  3. Astrology is based on the belief that the Earth is the center of the universe, and the planets circle the Earth on giant crystal spheres that resonate with cosmic harmonic frequencies.

This, of course, is not true.

Your personality is determined by your genetics and your experiences in life, not the positions of the stars and planets. Planets are just balls of rock and gas, and the constellations we see are just temporary patterns which we decide look vaguely like creatures we know. If you  actually look up at the stars, you'll see that the constellations don't look much like what they're named for. Furthermore, the stars are drifting, and after several thousand years, the constellations we see today won't exist.

There is no "meaning" or personal insight to be gained from the time of your birth or the positions of the stars and planets. Astronomy, the study of our universe, is fascinating and shouldn't be brought down with this egotistic, self-serving superstition.

Basically, every planet is a significater of a particular set of personality traits. Mars being physical aggression, and assertiveness; Venus being love and seductive ability; Moon being the emotions and unconscious, and so on. Whichever sign a planet falls into during your time of birth, is the sign whose characteristics the planet will invoke when expressing itself. For example, a person with a Leo-Mars would express themselves with a great deal of pride, self-confidence and a possibly domineering nature - characteristics of Leo. While someone with a Libra-Mars (such as myself) would channel their drive into fairness, harmony and social justice - respective traits of Libra. The regular horoscopes you find in newspapers and magazines use only the Sun sign, which is the kind of "seed" from which everything else stems.

The houses in the natal chart show where these characteristics would naturally express themselves. The 4th ruling the family, home and "roots"; the 8th ruling s*x, death and regeneration; the 11th ruling detached partnerships, friends and acquaintances, and so forth. The house positions are usually determined by the ascendant, or rising sign, the sign of how we supposedly appear to others. Yours is Gemini.

Aspects between the planets, depending on their positions and degrees would also affect the native. Conjunctions, trines, sextiles being generally harmonious. Oppositions, squares generally causing friction.

An example from your birth chart, being that you have an attractive Venus-Mars conjunction in Aries. This would denote an energetic emotional and sexual drive, with an assertive and self-confident nature in love and s*x. But perhaps too impulsive. Another, Sun-Mercury conjunction in Aquarius would give a love of unconventional discussion, writing. The conjunction occurs in the 10th house, of social standing and the "professional" appearance to the world, such as that of a career.

  5. There are people who decipher your date of birth and such details and figure out your personality your luck and stuff like that.

i dont know if its good, i never went for it, but you can look into it :

  6. They don't.  It's all a bunch of B.S.

  7. Alan Oken's books about astrology (As Above, So Below, for one) are easy to understand, if a little long-winded. They are the best books I have found that explain what the planets and the zodiac signs are and what they mean.

The planets as they were when you were born is called your "natal chart." A good astrologer can interpret that for you and also draw up a "progressed chart," which indicates what is happening with you now.

LIke any field, astrology has its share of good and bad practitioners. Any reputable astrologer: 1. Will tell you that astrology reveals tendencies, but does not "make" anybody do anything they do not choose to do or "make" them be anything they don't want to be.

    2. Will never try to predict the date of a client's death (yes, people do ask).

    3. Will never tell you spooky things like "you are under a curse."

I wish I could recommend a good astrologer to you but I'm between astrologers and don't know any. You might try looking in the yellow pages.
