I wanted to know how Athletes get paid specifically Track and Field Athletes. What is the role of the Management company? Do they provide a salary too? Or is this only from their winnings and endorsements?

  1. If their championship material they get an allowance for the

    athletic association.Have sponsors.If they are good.They get

paid appearance money for event organisers.

  2. Either by check, by direct deposit, or even by boxes full of large bills.

  3. advertising

  4. Athletes get an appearance fee and then extra if they win. They are not salaried which is why sponsorship and government grants are so important. They may also qualify for allowances from the AA but, again, these are small amounts.

Most athletes starting out will have an agent.  If they are good they will send be signed to a management company to look after endoresments, contracts, appearances, etc. But you have to be good, showing real potential and star quality. Again though you won't be salaried - think of an athelite as being self employed.

Most atheletes starting out have other jobs to support themselves untill they can get sufficient sponsorship.

And most, from what I know, don't go into athletics for the money but for the love of their sport.
