A check card (debit card) is just like writing a check except it processes faster.

You can get one at your bank that accesses your checking account. However, if you don't feel comfortable having your entire checking account available to an identity thief or someone who might steal or find your check card, you might be interested in a prepaid debit card that has nothing to do with your checking account.
