Question:

How do Dobermans do in cold weather? ?

Dobermans look like they would get cold easily since they have such a short coat, yet they were developed in Germany where it gets really cold. I'd never make a Doberman live outdoors in summer or winter, but can Dobermans go for long walks and play in the snow?

  1. I think they were mixed up with other dogs but cant understand how they managed the cold

  2. Dobermans can get cold in winter, but if you give them time they can get used to it - not all at once.

  3. They probably do as good as me and freeze their balls off.

Buy it a coat if you get one.

  4. Take a look at this... it looks like they do pretty well in cold weather as well as hot weather:

My Dobes don't like inclement weather of any kind, but with a light weight Equafleece dog coat on they are very warm and snug and love to play in the snow!

JJ thoroughly enjoyed himself as you can see in the pictures last April.

  6. yes they do get cold outside and unless they have a dog coat for winter they need to sleep inside.

Dobes can go to the snow, however they will need a coat then too. This is the same for most short haired dogs.
